After Merithra sends us all to find out if everyone is doing peachy after the tree comes out of the Dream… she totally casts shade at us and reminds us we really are their b’s. “Thanks for doing the hard part, but, now serve everyone and chase the pests away. Here are some useless crappy trinkets.”
I loved running around and seeing everyone we interacted with, throughout the whole expac. That was nice.
Was kinda confused about the friendly Gnolls in that one part. I don’t seem to recall there being any friendly Gnolls. ![]()
As a Night Elf, I was fine with giving everyone snacks and drinks as a “thank you” for helping out.
Because now my people have our Big New Beautiful Glorious Tree

This had me throughly confused. I don’t recall anyone at that little get-together sloshing through molten lava, being trapped in roots, stapled to the ground by spears or hoping the bit of shrubbery they’re hiding behind will offer some safety.
Not even a /cheer from the crowd thrown my way, just “here’s a couple baubles, now go fetch Khadgar a drink and be quick about it”.
Very bizarre.
It is extremely rare that the players actually canonically beat the bad guy. Like, Maiev is the one that killed Illidan. Tirion killed Arthas. Thrall and the aspects killed Deathwing. And so on.
Going forward, I fully expect that the credit for killing Fyrakk will go to the Power Ranger dragons posing on platforms of their respective colours going on about the power of friendship and family.
Its a little side quest chain in the Azure Span, like north westish area, and then there is the small one found abandoned outside of Iskaara that you bring in that sells cute backpacks.
This, like for Arthas, adventurers (players) were there, they were just fighting the infinite waves underlings outside.
Also for Arthas, it was Tirion, Jaina, and Sylvanas. And Illidan is one of the few that adventurers cannonically fought.
I’ve done this last chapter now 3 times and it might be the worst questline I’ve done in a game ever.
And the worst part was not one of those credit stealing freeloaders left a tip!
I’m so confused after this. Admittedly I don’t pay attention to the story at all…
But where the hell am I? That’s what I was thinking the whole time doing this quest. Is the emerald dream just an island? Am I in the Emerald dream or on some island off the coast of the plains? Always thought of the dream as it’s own magical plane, not a location in Azeroth.
So what came first, the Emerald Dream or this island laying off the cost of Ohn’ahran plains? Why are they nearly identical? Is that gate that takes us to the dream just taking us to a phase of an existing island? And now the island is going to be an elf capital…
This is why I don’t pay attention to the story.
Playing waiter at Tyrande’s tea party is one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in this game.
All I could think was, “I’m the greatest warrior in all of Azeroth and I’ve been reduced to the sexiest waiter in all of Azeroth and beyond thanks to this quest”
I think the Kyrin and Venthyr covenant side activities would like to say “Hold my beer”
You mean Ebon Court?
Ebon Court was fantastic.
They could have actually made it work.
Just do this:
“Please, , we ask one last request of you. The Tuskarr, Centaur, and other denizens of the Isles have agreed to provide their finest food and drink at a celebratory banquet.”
“However, they will allow ONLY YOU to touch their wares, as they hold you in such high esteem. And, perhaps, they just wanted to see you again before you leave these lands, after all you have done for them.”
“Would you be willing to showcase yourself as an ambassador to all peoples once again, by graciously accepting their items and distributing them at our feast?”
Instead of this:
“You! Do my bidding, servant.”
For funsies, when you’re done with the quest line you still see all the player in the party phase doing things.
It always makes me laugh when people complain about WoW story and writing and then post stuff like this thinking it is so much better.

Seeing how pathetic the party was made me glad we didn’t get Thalyssra and Lor’themar’s wedding expressed in-game.
“Thank you, Champion, for saving the Emerald Dream, restoring the power of the Dragon Aspects and defending the rebirth of a new World Tree. The Kaldorei have a new home and we are forever indebted to you. Now table 3 needs more breadsticks, Move it!”
I think the Kyrin and Venthyr covenant side activities would like to say “Hold my beer”
I think you mean “Fetch my beer.”
I see. ![]()
