Amd vs Intel for new pc?

Hey guys,

I was wondering if yall could advice me on what processor is the best for Wow and Csgo.

  1. Amd Ryzen 7 3700X
  2. Amd Ryzen 9 3900X
  3. Intel i9 9900k

Thanks

You need more than just CPU, you need to consider Motherboard, Ram, Cooler, Case which will affect which CPU you pick.

Plus you should probably mention what’s your budget cap too and if you want to get a monitor as well.

Depends what you plan on doing.

  1. Pure Gaming.
  2. Gaming + Multitasking (Streaming, Video Editing, Other)

I switched from Intel to AMD a few years ago because AMD has caught up and passed Intel in pretty much every aspect and then some.

I build my own PC’s (3rd one now) Ryzen 2700x, 1080Ti built in July 2018 and it still does everything at Max.

I suggest NOT getting an Intel and go with Ryzen, a far superior System that far outruns Intel in the Multitasking Arena, including gaming.

Here you go…

As a previous Intel Only Fan and AMD Hater years ago when Intel WAS better, I must say I will never go back to Intel again.

Times Change!

Edit: Use Youtube as I did and learn to build your own PC. It’s fun and WAY cheaper.
Start with https://pcpartpicker.com/ and put your system together online with the parts and budget you want.

Then search YT for “Pauls Hardware” and learn to build it yourself.

PROFIT!

Bulldozer was absolute unmitigated trash. Zen on the other hand, is a god send.

As for op, if you only want to play WoW and Csgo at the best fps then the i9 9900ks is your best choice. Make sure to buy a 240mm aio at the very least though, because it runs hot.

The ryzen 7 3700x is like 10% slower but 30% cheaper. You can also use any am4 mothoerbard on the market wih the ryzen 7 3700x (besides a320). The x570 motherboards should also support Ryzen 4000 series. While z390 won’t support the intel i9 10900k.

As for the Ryzen 9 3900x, it will be a bit slower than the i9 9900ks in WoW, and Csgo. Where it really shines is video editing, compression/decompression, and mostly productivity tasks. That is where it stomps the i9 9900ks.

I gave your post a like because what you said, hats to you sir for saying stuff like this :+1:

Ryzen 9 3950x

They are all overkill for WoW and CSGo. Any one of them would be a great choice.
If all you do is game, buy the cheapest of the 3.

what is your video card?

If i was you, i would get a 1440p 144hz freesync monitor for like $350. Since Freesync is supported by Nvidia now. Along with a Ryzen 7 3700x or i7 9700k and an rtx 2070 Super. An x470 board for the ryzen set up and a z390 board for Intel. 16gb of 3200 ddr4 minimum and a 512gb~1tb ssd.

if it’s zen 2 then you need 3600 ram
if you want to ask something about ryzen then here is my PC
CPU ryzen 7 3800x
MOBO x570 aorus elite
ram ddr4 3600 infinity fabric 1:1
GPU RX590 (not good for my CPU)

IMO the Ryzen 3600 is all you need. You can get it for $180ish and it’s not all that much slower than the i9 9900k in reality…but it is almost $300 less.
The performance difference is not worth paying more than the $180 .

$150 if you live close to a Micro Center.

Wow, that’s crazy. It’s easily the best bang for the buck.
