It makes up for losing shrouded suff in an opener.
Blind side procs it often too.
Unfortunately i dont think it will beat a 10% dmg bonus once we start getting more haste. But at least we get alacrity back too (in place of Toxic Blade) which is nice.

Hopefully Ion will keep his word and make the “active” talents like Blindside the strongest for Shadowlands.
If blindside had less RNG it would probably be better. I would like the execute phase to have 100% chance to trigger it.
Blindside should be baseline, the way it plays flows really well. The talent should make it 100% in execute like Epic suggested
Should do more dmg in execute.
Idk tho. Assass feels kinda weak atm in pvp compared to everything.

Like, i jumped an Arcane mage and for somw reason my bleeds and posions were ticking for UNDER 100 dmg each on him.

Odds are we will not get Blindside in a format that’s good and fun because that would mean we rogues are having fun.
And blizzard cant allow rogues to have fun, because then others would not be having fun.
Use to be called Dispatch and it was baseline for mutilate, basically it was backstab, and was 100% lethal in Execute phase.
I just still can’t get over that for some godaweful reason when Blizz reverted Saber Slash to Sinister Strike they didn’t revert Run Through to Eviscerate but instead changed it to Dispatch, forcing the actual Dispatch to get a name change as well.
They should revert Garrote to be class-wide and from-stealth only and make OG Dispatch baseline for Assassination instead.
That way Hemo can return for Sub because Hemo and Live-Garrote are functionally very similar.
It also helps with SND not meshing with Assassination as much because there’s one less dot/buff to keep track of.
For some reason, I thought we were getting baseline dispatch back for Assa and I now realize its just the Ambush proc as a talent and I am…whelmed…
It should be but we know that BlizZard is resistant to positive changes for Rogues.

Yeah that shouldn’t happen with how Assassination is currently designed. Something else must be going on that is bugged? 
Talking about Assass in Shadowlands beta. Everything except Envenom does tickle dmg. Dots ticking for under 99 dmg.
Feels bad. SUB however feels amazing.

Does Blind Side work with the slaughter covenant ability as well?
Reason I ask, is cause the one soul bind gives yourself 10percent vers when you use the skill, and 4 percent for party members. Would be cool to have it proc, and also get that buff every time. So in a sense, it would have elaborate planning built in sorta, since 10% vers is 10 percent damage increase, but the buff lasts 10 secs, and would be procced off of slaughter uses, while also buffing 4 nearby allies.
It would also help with rotation since it would be a free proc, with the slaughter conduit ontop of it slaughter would hit really hard and have a high crit chance.
Tbh i think they should give assa the old Dispatch from MoP/WoD expansion instead of ambush…
It was very fun and engaging ability back in the days, it feels like a good execute and another cp builder ability you can use with much less energy cost when targets were under 35% hp… The gameplay was very smooth and fun.
The only reason no one played it in BFA as a talent was just a damage numbers tuning which never happened during whole 2 years of BFA which is kinda sad since it was a very good ability back in the days…
The SL ambush feels weird and not much useful to use in the opener, also u can’t ever use it outside of stealth so its kinda waste to have it on bars either. Just give us old Dispatch back blizzard please !
Using it alongside garrote in opener feels awsome with subterfuge which will be the go to talent. Feels like it makes up for losing shrouded suffocation azerite trait
