I think my Afterburner is set up to read the wrong thing. HWInfo64 is reporting 85% GPU Core Load at 1440p and 100% at 4k, and the fans have ramped up higher. So I think ignore afterburner.
I’ve also enabled global sharpening at 0.6%, and it’s lookin’…SHARP
Shiftydruid…is gonna come in here and convince me to upgrade my CPU next. I can feel it.

Runs pretty good as is, even at 100% load it seems to never break 65c
I don’t have that luck I’m so noise sensitive after I tweaked the fans down eve the ftw3 was getting kinda hot. But I went in and set it to about 310W on a custom voltage curve its still nearly as fast as out of box. Still gets into the 70s.
mine is quiet, but it DOES have an amount of coil whine. I only heard it last night when nobody was around, everything was off, and I was playing only with one earbud vs. my speakers.
I’m sure you would say mine was quiet too my tolerance isn’t that high…
I may through the EVGA hybrid block on it when its available. Or incorporate it into my custom loop… Or just hold out for a RX 7800XT.
Haha perhaps so. I am not too sound sensitive. Truth is, I have an amount of tinnitus so there’s some stuff I just don’t hear anyway.

I also bumped up the maximum power limit to 110% in MSI Afterburner. As it stands, HWInfo64 will report as high as 355w after the changes vs only around 330ish before. Temperature seems unaffected. Haven’t touched the core or memory frequency. Maybe that’s next.
Part of my problem perhaps I play with no audio in really early morning when everyone is sleeping and its quiet. I’ve done headphones but I’ve been walked in on…

A word of caution as someone who once replaced the FE cooler on their 1080ti with an EVGA hybrid cooler: if your GPU has coil whine, it will be way more audible with the hybrid cooler on the GPU. Personally I prefer hearing the fans more than the coil whine, and my GPU is back on air cooling now.
Since I’ve completed all my Renown, M0, and other stuff, I decided to spend this evening playing AC Odyssey.
It’s actually fun to play now. On high settings (not ultra or ultra high)
At 1440p on the 5700xt it was only around 60-70fps.
With the 3080, looking around 90-120fps with no stuttering. And no 80c+ 3200rpm fans - cool and quiet even at 90-99% load.
very nice lol. I don’t see why I personally would need a 3080 especially for WoW, I have a 2070 Super and it runs WoW perfectly 1440p max settings and RTX (can’t really notice WoW RTX on… is it even there?)
so in my case, I’ll just wait until the 40 series come around xD even cyberpunk and all new VR titles should be fine on my PC. but yeah congrats on the 3080, that’ll hold up for 5+ years for sure

WoW isn’t really my main game - I have been subbed to it on/off for the past 15 years but I play a lot of other stuff.
Right now, I’m going back to my library to play games that weren’t as good on my hardware before.
Right now I’m playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey on Ultra High settings 1440p, and getting around 90-120fps with a 95-100% GPU usage.
On the 5700XT, I was getting around sub 60fps on high at 1440p.
Incredibly noticeable difference in gameplay.
RTX is a complete waste on WoW, and IMO probably won’t even really use it for CP2077 either for actually playing the game.
