NZ guild on Aman’Thul reporting in to agree and a little bit disagree :). We do not raid Mythic, we set a goal to do AOTC/Heroic only from 2 expacs ago and we do it at a family friendly pace of 2x2hr raids hours per week. We have now also done the achieves. Still getting towards 20 to most raids (at peak Legion we hit the max and normal BFA was about 20-25). What we do is focus also on the social side of the guild. Real life events mean the core is the same even now. Classic has had the biggest effect on us to be honest but we made a guild on Remulos as well (with about 600 members) which is the same discord so people still chat and group together. Classic is working thru MC atm and has 30-40 on most nights. It can be done to keep the guild active but you need to all be on the same goal. Blizzard had the chance for next expac to make this all happen but it was Ion who shied away (Preach did an interview with him at Blizzcon where he admitted he pulled the plug on end the factions). I really think Wow 2.0 was needed as the next one to make it different from Classic in that everyone could raid and group together no matter the realm. That and replace sharding with layering (and maybe merge all oceanics together) and much would fix. Oh well.

Jubei’Thos and Gundrak have died off alot too. TBH we need to merge all the oceanic servers together into 1 super server, just leave out Frostmourne. It’s kind of sad to see the servers in this state, i remember BC,WotLK upto MoP so many ppl around, duels outside org etc, was good times.

I just came back to the game after 9 years. Decided to start a new character in Aman’Thul (My old stomping grounds) and man oh man is it dead. Feels like im playing single player.
I guess if I decide to change ill just start a new character on another realm as I dont want to pay for a change .

I want to add my voice to this as well. As one of the officer core of a guild that has been around since Vanilla (Khaz’goroth then Aman’thul then Saurfang then back to Aman’thul) it is a very sad state of affairs as I don’t think we have enough players to raid in 8.3 and we haven’t been able to recruit any replacements once people left the s#%tshow that is BFA. We’re probably going to miss a guild AotC for the first time which makes me very sad.
Merge it for the love of god.
You could probably merge all the Oceanic Servers except Frostmourne and it would probably have equal economy and active population to Frostmourne itself.

no we dont need the merge ive been on aman from day one it came up , i see a ton of alliance a

Something definitely needs to be done. Almost every realm outside of Frostmourne and Barthilas is dying when it comes to high-end progression, and even Barthilas is bleeding players. Cael-Nagrand is one of the more populated realms and it’s felt genuinely impossible to recruit new players. The saving grace of my guild has been to keep the social aspect alive and going and I feel like that’s what’s been pulling us through the game since Uldir.

Cross-realm doesn’t cut it. A properly handled merger would revitalise the raiding landscape and provide a great opportunity to also address the ridiculous faction imbalance for high-end raiding and PvP (war mode included).

Will Blizzard do anything about it? Probably not, the OCE community gets ignored as it is, asking for a drastic change to servers is almost certainly going to fall on deaf ears.

At the very least Blizz needs to merge Saurfang and Aman’thul:

Look at the WoWProgress Oceanic Realms list.

The population numbers are absurdly low.

Oh sweet child. Bless your naiveté.

With all the group finder tools and cross realms its hardly worth it to join two low pop realms
Bar for mythic raiding
Most mythic raiders have all ready moved to the high pop realms anyhow

It is absolutely worthwhile. Cross realms and group finders don’t make a guild. Many people value guilds, otherwise why do they exist?

Merging also helps pump up the economies usually.

Dear darthcutie At the moment there is four low pop realms
and two medium pop realms (amanthul and Saurfang being medium pop
And 3 high pop realms

leaving only barth and frostmourne as full pop

What realm do think would be best to merge with? and which other realm should aman join?

As for me i am not to sure it will help or not

Merge all of them into two servers?

Merge Aman’thul with the two low pop realms that have the most Horde. Merge Saurfang with the two low pop realms that have the most Alliance.

Or, perhaps even better, merge all six of them.

It will definitely help. how could it possibly not?

For the love of god blizz, plz do a merge. Jubei/Gundrak is dying rapidly, almost every week people leave for frost and barth. It would be a positive change to boost up the economy and more people to grow guilds.

I actually think we’re going to be asked if we want to move to Frostmourne. Not sure it’d happen, but still. Dang.

I wouldn’t be against a merge, but what happens with guild/player names that are the same? I’ve been on Aman’thul since Vanilla; I’d hate to have to change the names of some of my toons that I’ve become very attached to.

Unfortunately @Sylvista, it’s unavoidable.

Also incredibly disappointing that Blizz can’t even bother acknowledging an entire server just begging for a “can you at least let us know whether a merge is a maybe?!”

On an even sadder note, it looks like we’ll be leaving the server. We’re not a big or great guild, but we’re probably very close to being the oldest active/raiding guild on Aman’Thul. I couldn’t be more disappointed in Blizz for their utter disregard.
