How would you guys feel if we didn’t end up getting any Amani-Trolls to ally with and we ended up just wiping them out?
- For the expansion ‘Midnight’ when we return to Quel’Thalas
Not saying this is good or bad, just curious on the playerbase thoughts
…
Fine with me, I dont want this trend of “allied race that already exists reskinned for the 3rd time as a new allied race!” garbage design. Its so bad. Were gonna end up with 10+ dwarfs, 10+ trolls, 10+ humans, 10+ gnomes, 20+ elves, etc with minimal differences aside from racials.

I wouldn’t really like it myself.
I don’t mind having a lot of races that are subsets of others. It makes it feel more Everquest-y/D&D-esque with how you can diversify your selection of different races, which from an RP standpoint is always a plus.

Casual troll genocide on their ancestral lands.
Yeah, I don’t think I’d feel too good about it lol.
Amani have owned those lands far longer than High Elves ever did.
Would be like if Orcs wiped out all the Humans in Eastern Kingdoms, and it just became Orc land.

We can live together in harmony, that way the Trolls won’t mind fixing the flames on my Amani War Bear.
Right Blizz?
Allyship or genocide? I don’t think those are the only two options.
Yes. That’s how conquest works. Sucks for them, but they lost that war ages ago.
No living Amani has more claim to the land than the Blood Elves, much less the specific living Blood Elves who have been living there for longer than even the grandparents of the oldest living Amani.
No Blood Elf in the area has been living there longer than any Amani lol.
High Elves came over the seas when they were exiled from Night Elven society for having arcane magic.
They arrived there. Amani were settled there before the continents got sundered.
And they haven’t lost if Zul’Aman is still standing. A stalemate, sure.
The Zandalari got their city ransacked, but they’re very much still around.
We don’t really genocide entire factions and give up their land in WoW. That’s just not how WoW operates.
Maximum Blood Elf life expectancy: Over 3,800.
Maximum Troll life expectancy: over 200 with the help of Loa.

The Amani language isn’t even older than specific living Blood Elves.
That land stopped being theirs far too long ago to pretend they have a claim.
All I’m saying, is this:
Just because elves naturally live longer, doesn’t mean they’ve been in the area longer.
They still migrated there.
And, currently, it’s still under Amani control. They don’t own ‘all’ of Quel’thelas.
By the logic of age, Draenei would rule everything on Azeroth lol, they can literally just wait out every other race since they themselves are the most long-lived race in WoW. And arguably the most technologically advanced, as well. No other race owns a spaceship.
Draenei don’t even have kids that often- that’s how long-lived they are.
Kids aren’t neccesary.

If we don’t dissolve this race == faction nonsense in the next expansion or two… I dunno. It’s going to continue to be silly imo.
It would just be nice to be done with them and we can pick a race then pick a faction (if we want) or have no faction and just go anywhere.

Well, the Amani wouldn’t be required to ally with the Horde to give the faction a forest troll allied race, so it isn’t really an all or nothing situation. The Revantusk Tribe in the Hinterlands are forest trolls that have been allied with the Horde and full on members since Vanilla. It was one reason people were really confused when we got a sand troll and dark troll skin for player trolls, but not a forest troll one.
Be that as it may, there will likely be a faction of the Amani that ally with the Horde, as I can’t imagine all of them were on board with the whole “kill our gods and steal their power” thing from Cata. Whether they became a full on allied race or a new customization subset for trolls (which is what allied races SHOULD have been) is another thing entirely.
Sidenote but the lifespan of a lot of races in WoW is just silly. There shouldn’t be any race that’s living over the age of 2000 at most, barring extreme outliers.

That’s fine we don’t need a third troll race.
Blizzard needs to quit it with the recycling of races already having a third dwarf is bad enough.
They’re Trolls, not even other Trolls like them…
they already killed the amani dignity after announcing blood elves for the horde in tbc instead of them
doesnt matter now, probably they will have another zul’aman dungeon and thats it, current devs dont even know who they are, just that they are trolls and trolls are evil because they look ugly and primitive
only elves and humans matter
Well I mean, invading & utterly decimating their civilisation to the degree unlike what has ever been seen before; to which they’d never be able to recover — Isn’t really all too much better either
Either way, when I said ‘wiping out’ – I mostly just meant slaying them in masses with impunity with little to no compromise, not necessarily complete genocide.
Why is it always about Quel’thalas being Amani land? All of Lordaeron was Amani land too.
The high elf exiles set up a city on a very tiny portion of the Amani Empire’s land. Put up a shield and just minded their own business for around 5,000 years. Considering the trolls don’t live that long, that’s many, many generations of trolls.
Then the trolls attacked the elves because of extremely ancient territorial claims at that point. Elves allied with humans and kicked the troll’s butts and then humans took over like 90% of the Amani Empire’s land.
But every time it comes up it’s just “Elves elves elves elves elves”

Will they drop anything cool? Like updated troll transmogs? If so, well, I am a mercenary after all.

I would like to have a forest troll but knowing amani lore… i really don’t think they’re interested in being friends with the horde. they tried that already. it did not work out well for them.
and i choose to not think there will never be trolls alliance side. that just… no. absolutely >>>not<<<.
