Incoming elf vs. troll debate

I’m not sure if he belongs in Revendreth. Maldraxxus would probably be better.

Da elves stole my people’s land. Den dey stole my eye
 and my life
Everybody always wanna take from us. But we never give up! We never forget.

What, you wanted your land back, troll? Off to Revendreth you go, repent for your sins. WTF Blizzard.

Oh lord.

Considering that entire storyline is dripping with themes of Colonialism, it’s pretty weird that the guy who’s fighting to get his land back is considered to be in the same place that you’d find someone called the World Reaper.

Wait why’s he not in the Other Side? Did Bwonsamdi not care about him?

He’s not the worst person to come out of Azeroth, but he absolutely accrued more than a few sins in his time. Flaying his prisoners to death and enslaving his own gods in an attempt to murder everyone probably left him with a reasonably steep karmic bill to pay off.

Bwonsamdi in BFA during the Voljin questline implies he’s only ever lost one soul before Voljin.

Stands to reason this is the one soul, and that Zuljin is the troll we see in the Afterlives: Revendreth cinematic

(like I had speculated originally since they had the same hair style and sideburns)

I’m okay with it if Garithos is also in Revendreth or the Maw  and Daelin!

So
Wanting to get your land back from invaders (and dying because if it) is considered ‘sinful’ and ‘wrathful’? What the hell is this even?

All land was/is troll land too. I honestly don’t think he did anything wrong by defending his people

(If anything, he should be in ‘bad troll jail’ in De Other Side. Not sure if Bwonsamdi really cares about the Amani though)

What a disgrace, good job again Blizzard /spite

One would think with Blizzard going woke, they’d stop that. Guess they just want to grind brownie points

Blizzard level designers are incompetent

source of that?

He never enslaved his pantheon, there is a mention on the Dungeon’s journal back in Cataclysm but later on Zandalar, we have a quest about facing the same mobs as “Loa champions” and when we deliver it, the npc says “Deir Loa will pick new champions soon” so why would the Loa still picking champions from people of a civilizations that enslaved them?

Elves killed a lot of Trolls and live in land that was occupied previously and yet we only see Kael’thas in there

We haven’t seen his sinstone so that might not be why he’s there.

I wouldn’t be surprised if his sin is the Amani dying because of his actions, not the actions themselves. Fighting to get your land back is one thing, but doing it until you’ve gotten a fairly significant number of your people killed and still fighting until you yourself were killed is another.

It’s less that he wanted Amani to thrive and survive and more that he wanted to wipe out all elves.

Now imagine a Zul’jin in the afterlife hunting and obliterating the souls of all elves.
See how that’s a problem?

Also I think he kidnapped some gods.

Not really if he’d just went to the Otha Side, as he should. Not many Elf souls there to kill.

Amani didn’t really give much attention to Bwonsamdi, near as I could tell. Just their own forest Loa, with no death god in particular of their own.

Amani literally say “I go
to de Otha Side” when you kill them in Zul Aman.

Reminder to both of you that Bwonsamdi during the Voljin questline implies he’s only ever lost one (1) soul

And in the Revendreth Afterlives cinematic we saw a Troll soul in the Halls of Atonement

And now we see Zuljin in the Halls of Atonement

So 1+1+1= Bwonsamdi lost Zuljin, he ended up in the Halls of Atonement

Now what is interesting is Kael’thas is also in Revendreth and also assigned to the Halls of Atonement.

Blood of the Highborne. If one prisoner won’t talk, he flays another alive. He’s also into some other gruesome tortures, like taking a prisoner’s chest apart and thrusting his fingers up in there.

Lol what. That was the whole point of the ZA raid, wasn’t it? Malacrass took notes from the blood elves’ abuse of M’uru, and Zul’jin decided to apply that “dark mojo” to steal their own loas’ power and seal it into chosen Amani warriors. Zul’jin and Daakara literally had the loa chained up and enslaved in their boss arenas, only getting set free when they die.

A few bad apples having having abused their gods doesn’t necessarily mean the loa would forever withhold their favor from the entire Amani tribe. The offenders have all been dead for years now.

Now there’s a predictable can of worms. To each their own, but I’m not convinced Average Joe’dorei should be going to vampire purgatory to pay off sins committed seven thousand years before he was born. And I’m pretty sure “occasionally fighting displaced trolls hellbent on wiping his race out” wasn’t on Kael’s sinstone.

Yep just checked but nothing new, a lot of elves tortured trolls and there are mentions “fire doesn’t allow them to regenerate” from Halduron that seems an expert in the matter, besides in Chronicles it says the elves hunted for sport Trolls alongside humans, so nothing foul against them

Nope, the point was to loot some shinnies and Blizzard wrote a story years later about just taking off the Amani Leaders as they were preparing for war despite their land was actually theirs and nobody even brings it up

But yet the Loa pick new champions and was even a mention this wasn’t a ritual? Kimbul despite being a honorable Loa, he still accepts sacrifices from other sapients creatures as we see in Travellers.

That’s a good point but raises a concern how OoC is the whole thing, in fact I’d compared it with Theron going from wanting to kill Jaina after she killed blood elves in Dalaran to kiss the ground she walks on and being ok with more Sin’dorei being killed at her hands.

Alleria fought in the Troll Wars and was still young when the first-second war started. Sure I don’t want Paul’dorei the tailor to go someplace like the Maw or Castlevania but rangers and most of their magisters?
Send it to the maw alongside the Trollbane(which is implied he was in Ravendreth as he says “The land of the shadows offer no respite for the wicked”)
