AMA - Almost capped my conquest

Many said it couldn’t be done, but 3 weeks after hitting 60, I have almost caught up to my conquest cap.

Only took:
201 2s matches (104/201)
120 3s matches (55/120)
11 RBGs (8/11)
And 3 weeks of pvp quests.

This sucked. I have other toons I want to level, but this is just… terrible. They seriously need to increase the rate at which we get conquest and even honor.

I wonder if it would be faster to level a toon to 60 in Classic.

Do you even need that much to be fully geared?

Hrm. I have 92 hours played on this shaman atm. Most of that time has been spent making or looking for arena or rbg groups. I would comfortably say at minimum 50+ hours have been spent specifically doing pvp related stuff.

That said, I’m a pretty motivated player so I made the RBG groups because enhance and I do have a decent amount of friends for PvP grinding. So… I’d say for the average player you are still looking at 60-80 hours to cap conquest right now.

Pretty depressing if you ask me. Imagine telling someone with a family and a job they need to dedicate at least 40-60 hours over the course of a month to cap conquest. It’s nutty. It’s basically a part-time job for a month.

Yes. 3 of my pieces are from the chest and I’m still missing 4 pieces. legs + trinkets. If you tried to grind it out all in one week, you would still be short 2-3k conquest.

Well, I’m actually missing 5 pieces because my neck has the wrong stats. Close, but I’ll still buy it when I get the conquest. We’ll need another 5-6 weeks because we’ll have enough conquest to get a full set.

That would be some insane grinding though. Supplementing a few weekly chest pieces is the only thing making this grind reasonable.

I’ve heard of people taking 3 days to get to 60 in classic as a mage

World record is 36 hrs

takes about a week if you grind it hard.

inb4 boomers that didnt actually play pre legion defend this grind even tho conquest capping alts took maybe 10-12 hrs max

Half way through levelling my 5th alt and just the thought of what is ahead of me to gear in pvp makes me logout.

X amount of hours slogging it getting deleted constantly before I can start playing the game

Man I don’t get a lot of time to Q and I dedicated my playtime this weekend to grinding conquest on my hunter… I’m like 1500/8k or whatever it is. So boring so depressing

well this was a bad thread to open as my resto druid alt hits lvl 58

Yep and after all of that time spent playing all of those games on a terribly undergeared character probably not having a great time what do you have to show for it? A 204 ilvl character that’s still absolutely s#!t geared and probably not much more fun to play. Should honestly be 100 conquest per win in 2’s and 150 in 3’s at this point. And even with that it would still feel like crap gearing a new char.

The whole thing is a big joke. They will need SERIOUS changes to alt gearing/catch up mechanics. The last few expansions have destroyed alts.

I don’t think blizzard grasps how much alts increase metrics/time played. If it weren’t such a ridiculous grind, instead of logging out after playing on my main for a bit, i’d just log over and continue playing on an alt. Sure as hell not doing that right now though.

If I hear of some serious changes to alt gearing/catch up for patch 9.1, perhaps i’ll start leveling some alts to 60, otherwise…no thanks.

Just sit RBG’s tbh. It’s super fast for gearing, especially if you’ve got friends willing to burn CR for lower rated games.

It’s actually not that bad to gear new alts I geared an alt that had 0 pvp gear but 207 ilvl to 226 in roughly 2 1/2 weeks time. I recommend making sure you prioritize 1 RBG, 1 BG, 1 Epic, 1 Skirm, 1 2’s and 1 3’s at the very least. It may seem better to spam queue 2’s or 3’s but you’ll spend a lot of time in LFG looking for partners to q with and even more time finding someone you can actually win games with. I really think it’s important to prioritize the daily win bonuses before mindlessly spamming arenas… if you can manage to prioritize making sure to maximize your daily bonus rewards gearing actually flys by!

Yea, humor aside, I am leveling a priest right now and a friend asked me when I would be ready for games. My honest answer was 2 months. Makes me not want to finish leveling. I really enjoy playing a lot of toons, but this is horrible.

Exactly. After 300+ games played, I’m only NOW in the range where I can actually start pushing to the next bracket. Conquest gear should be way easier to get considering the amount of honor also required to upgrade.

The work should be on upgrading and getting rating, NOT getting the initial gear.

Consider this though, I have no toons that are fully conquest capped. Even my ‘main’ isn’t conquest capped. The amount of games needed is absurd. 4 active toons and not one is fully capped.

How is that ‘flys by’ in anyway? You’re logging in everyday to get the bonus and you’re still talking 2-3 hours.

I literally geared my paladin in a week. It’s not that hard took a few days or rbs. I hit 60 a week before your character did but I only pushed rating tbis week after a valheim break I took. Quit complaining and just put the effort in and suck less. Seriously complain more.

Can’t believe this far into the season and if you grinded out all your conquest you still wouldn’t be fully geared. 2-3k short is still 3-5 pieces.

Was it this pally that you posted on?

You did 119 rated bgs in a week?

Ya and I’m sadly in my crappy ret gear xD holy is 221. Played like 45 rbgs just Saturday alone. Dedication
