The obvious answer is yes. Doesn’t matter.
One of the dungeon rules I live by is to
only Need on what I actually Need. If it’s an upgrade and everyone else is greed, I say something and hit Need. That’s for MOST dungeons.
If I am in a dungeon where BIS drops for my class or it’s the +15 agility cloak off the boss in undead Strat, that is BIS for a lot of classes, I usually only Need once per dungeon regardless of whatever loot drops unless everyone else is going greed but it would be an upgrade) but I will always say something in that case.
Am I wrong or am I being too sensitive?
I’ve been in a few groups, even in the top available dungeons where people will Need on everything using some logic that makes sense to them. I just don’t get it. 98% of players are not multi boxed and there is a real person there behind a laptop or computer taking time out of their day. Sure, we all want to get our epic mounts and stuff like that, but what does the opposite of consideration mean today?
Either way, I am still wrong. Right😝?
The best I can say is, try to minimize situations where you are at the mercy of someone else’s generosity. You’ll save yourself some huge heartache.
Some people play this game with a ‘zero camaraderie’ mindset and it’s a massive bummer to deal with sometimes. You can still look after #1 without being a d-wad to everyone else.
EDIT: To clarify, I’m not talking about the OP.

You’re not wrong. You’re acting based on your values and principles.
HOWEVER, you don’t get to decide what other peoples’ values and principles are. So you can be right, but if you try to force your rules on others (rather than find groups with people who agree), that is wrong.
Common sense has become as uncommon as common courtesy.

I need on every BOE, it’s easier.
You do you though.
It depends on the circumstances. If those people can use it too, need on everything. Nobody should be expected to pass on something that they will use.
Needing on it for D/E or to sell is generally not accepted unless it’s a very rare BoE. Then it depends on the group. Some groups will be ok giving the BoE to someone if they will equip it. Some groups will have everyone roll on it because it is so valuable. It’s best to call out the expectation for BoEs beforehand rather than allow loot drama. A group I was in had the tank drop group after we all agreed to need on BoE epics. You can imagine the drama that would have ensued if an epic dropped before this was spelled out.
On the flip side of this coin, if you win a Need roll on a BOE, you are always free to pass it on to someone else if you think they can use it more. Rolling Greed may be “nice” and all but playing interference on behalf of your teammates - that’s true sportsmanship.
…just so long as your team doesn’t kick you before you can make the hand-off, that is…
You should establish loot rules before you commit to a dungeon run. If anyone is actively avoiding answering your questions, then I don’t have an issue needing a valuable BoE or winning multiple BoP’s.
A 100g+ BoE can be a nice chunk of change to an epic mount or craftable. So by definition, everyone certainly needs it.
