Am I too old for WoW?

Perfect way to describe Ardenweald

Them and Grimm fairy tales also had underlined political commentary hidden within them IE- 3 blind mice was said to be commentary about Mary Tudor, Humpty Dumpty was about an old war cannon and Ring Around the Rosey was about the Black Plague.

In terms of WoW,there are players from all walks if life and ages playing ranging from kids to older folk in their 70s. Just because it’s colorful rather than grim dark doesn’t necessarily mean you’re too old for it,it just means you fight a bit harder to enjoy what you do and tell people who see adult as a term of approval to go stuff it.

I’m 35 and when I have time to play thoroughly enjoy my time without shame as life’s too short to worry about what other people think about your gaming preferences [Hell,I’ll play platformers until I can play no more.]

Their dumbing it down with systems for a cell phone launch

X, whatever X is, be it WoW, The Last Airbender, skydiving, whatever, is for whomever enjoys it.

Age gating is stupid.

I’m 52 and still enjoy Pokemon games. If that makes me immature then neener neener neener.

I’ve been seeing this too, I love it! I think it is really cool to see retiree’s doing this stuff. My mum would have rocked it playing wow <3

I’m 50 and still playing.

na your fine. if anything wow should up the age requirements to be allowed to play the game.

Nah, I like the kids ,don’t grow up please.

I’ll be 40 soon as well. Been playing since 2006 South Park episode. Was a fan of WC 3 before that. Wow is for everyone!

The only time I remember people saying wow was for children was during MoP when all the edgy teens felt threatened by ā€œKung fu pandaā€. Like somehow in their minds if they visibly appeared to like MoP they would be seen as ā€œkidsā€ because that movie was a children’s movie. So their defense against being called a ā€œkidā€ is to crap on MoP to act ā€œcoolā€ and ā€œadultā€.

Ironic that by proclaiming MoP was for kids, they were acting like children.

Sure you can be!

I’m 31 and don’t feel too old. I know in 10 years when diablo 4 comes out I probably won’t feel too old for that either lol. You can totally grow out of something.

Just look at children, they outgrow toys within months of getting them. As adults our ā€œtoysā€ are just more complicated and hence can take longer for them to wear off on us.

LoL for example, wore off on me after about 2 years of playing a lot. I just couldn’t find any fun in it so I stopped.

WoW still has elements I enjoy. Before I played for the ā€œadventureā€ sensation (when I was very young), now I play more for pushing harder content and trying to use my full kit in M+ with a group of similarly aged folks who have a good sense of humour

I’ve been playing since 2005 when I was 14. It’s a game that sort of progresses on my nostalgia and with more legacy servers being released, I have more reason, I guess lol

The writing was never spectacular, but during BFA it just went right down the toilet.

This is funny because I dont think its ever actually been as bad as it is right now.

Lets be honest though, anything is better than being sent back to your room after they give you your meds.

I’m not sure age is a problem - compared to ā€˜length of time played’ and boredom.

Despite many changes, the DNA of the game is still pretty similar to how it was back in 2004. Yes, things are definitely different, but you have classes, questing, instances, raids, gearing etc. It hasn’t turned into God of War or Halo.

And… that gets old. I know I’m not hating the expansion atm but definitely feeling more burnt out than I have in years so will probably take a break for a bit after my guild finishes heroic Nathria. If 9.1 is boring it might be a longer break ^^

Again, not age. Just the game being around for so long I think it’s hard for them to really create innovative content.

Omg yes,she is such a treasure!
