In terms of WoW,there are players from all walks if life and ages playing ranging from kids to older folk in their 70s. Just because itās colorful rather than grim dark doesnāt necessarily mean youāre too old for it,it just means you fight a bit harder to enjoy what you do and tell people who see adult as a term of approval to go stuff it.
Iām 35 and when I have time to play thoroughly enjoy my time without shame as lifeās too short to worry about what other people think about your gaming preferences [Hell,Iāll play platformers until I can play no more.]

The only time I remember people saying wow was for children was during MoP when all the edgy teens felt threatened by āKung fu pandaā. Like somehow in their minds if they visibly appeared to like MoP they would be seen as ākidsā because that movie was a childrenās movie. So their defense against being called a ākidā is to crap on MoP to act ācoolā and āadultā.
Ironic that by proclaiming MoP was for kids, they were acting like children.

Iām 31 and donāt feel too old. I know in 10 years when diablo 4 comes out I probably wonāt feel too old for that either lol. You can totally grow out of something.
Just look at children, they outgrow toys within months of getting them. As adults our ātoysā are just more complicated and hence can take longer for them to wear off on us.
LoL for example, wore off on me after about 2 years of playing a lot. I just couldnāt find any fun in it so I stopped.
WoW still has elements I enjoy. Before I played for the āadventureā sensation (when I was very young), now I play more for pushing harder content and trying to use my full kit in M+ with a group of similarly aged folks who have a good sense of humour

Iāve been playing since 2005 when I was 14. Itās a game that sort of progresses on my nostalgia and with more legacy servers being released, I have more reason, I guess lol
The writing was never spectacular, but during BFA it just went right down the toilet.
This is funny because I dont think its ever actually been as bad as it is right now.
Lets be honest though, anything is better than being sent back to your room after they give you your meds.

Iām not sure age is a problem - compared to ālength of time playedā and boredom.
Despite many changes, the DNA of the game is still pretty similar to how it was back in 2004. Yes, things are definitely different, but you have classes, questing, instances, raids, gearing etc. It hasnāt turned into God of War or Halo.
Andā¦ that gets old. I know Iām not hating the expansion atm but definitely feeling more burnt out than I have in years so will probably take a break for a bit after my guild finishes heroic Nathria. If 9.1 is boring it might be a longer break ^^
Again, not age. Just the game being around for so long I think itās hard for them to really create innovative content.
