This is one of the new BfA TW rewards:
I think it would look a lot better with at least a rudimentary saddle. Saddle-less mounts always struck me as extremely lazy from a developer PoV and also immersion breaking.
They just feel like a dev has gone, “oh, here’s a random npc we can plop a player onto. Here you go. 1 new mount. Yay for you”.

I see no reins or anything, would be a nightmare to ride without falling off tbh.
Looks odd also.
I mean… some people ride bareback so having those options isnt totally out of the norm.
Does look silly though.

You have to hold on for dear life. If you fall off, your mount eats you.
I prefer them saddle-less because more often than not, the saddle isn’t going to match your armor.
I hate it when I get the perfect mount for a character but the saddle is made of steel and the character’s armor is golden and stuff like that.

Everyone knows riding bareback is dangerous.

I used to ride horses bareback for a reason: it’s a connection between you and the animal. It’s how you can bond with them and one of the things we were taught to get a better understanding and communication before we trained with that horse for competitions. We did it for jumping and dressage.
I think the no saddle on game mounts represents that: our characters bonded well with the animal.

Saddleless mounts are kind of hard on your butt.
My ancestors are proud of me when I travel without a saddle
The problem I have is the cat mount has a special mount animation but the raptor does not.
I actually kind of prefer mounts without a saddle. That one one of the reason I liked the dragons we got in Dragonflight so much. I could turn off all the armour and the saddles.
I did the same thing for the griffon you got from the War Within too.

Did you at least ride them side saddle like a proper lady? I will be very disappointed if you didn’t. And yes, I have been re-watching Downton Abbey.
That’s because Elven backsides don’t have enough cushioning

I want to make a smartass comeback, but it’s true that Draenei have very nice backsides, and I cannot lie.

we’re adventurers…all mounts should have packs and bags, if you ask me
I don’t mind the lack of saddle as much as the lack of reins. It looks weird when they’re sitting there holding reins that don’t exist!

My favorite mounts are “normal” mounts (horses, unicorns, sabers, wolves, etc) that have simple, minimal saddles. Practical and comfortable, but not loaded with a ton of stuff. Riding around on my PvP coursers with their giant bags full of skulls feels overkill to me.
I like them both, and think it’s a nice mixup to satisfy all preferences. I do tend to like the ones with saddles/gear a bit more, but sometimes the ones without give my hunter the feel she’s made some animal friend, that’s allowing her the gift of riding with them.
With that, blizz please give hunters the ability to ride along with some of their pets [I realize it may not be possible for all].
