That’s just unbelievable. I used to hear about them, and knew they were famous back in the day, but unfortunately I can no longer remember in what context. I tried AQ, never downed C’thun but only some simple first boss. Back then all you could look forward to was getting into a good guild to raid. I can’t help wondering how his experiences contributed to the current direction of the game.

All I remember is I played like crap until some guy told me to use AskMrRobot, but i find AMR unusable now.

That sort was probably the reason why gamers like myself heard about and avoided WoW early on.
Ion is going to star in the next Warcraft movie as Sylvanas.

It would be interesting to learn where all the early geniuses went. And that’s why WoW used to be fun. When you saw smart people playing they were REALLY COOL.
Tbh, probably. He used to be a lawyer too, but that’s pretty irrelevant now, as he’s been in game/raid design for over a decade.

Well I remember meeting some people in old guilds who would rather stay in and play video games then go out on the street in their violent neighborhoods and get shot at by gang members – totally understandable.

yeah…there is that.
All of my kids played video games and CCGs like magic. All the kids and adults.
None of them turned out to be substance abusers. Most of them have grown up to be super responsible adults with families.
Even the worst ones are just a little lazy.
Personally I think kids playing CCGs and computer games helps in most cases.
I think that’s why I’m offended when I see people act like that when they are in a raid or guild. It’s like they are pretending they are rough, violent people, when we all know they are just like you and me, sitting behind some keyboard attached to a monitor!
