Am I the only one who despises On-Use Trinkets?

Especially when they’re BiS and/or they have a channel that screws up my rotation.

no you are not all trinkets should be on equip not on demand.

you use grieftorch when your resources are low.
and whoever designed puzzlebox was on that dank stuff that day.

I don’t mind direct damage channels, stat channels annoy me though. Puzzle Box feels bad to use as a melee, but grief Torch feels fine.

Only annoys me when 2 of them are bis to run at the same time.

You’re not alone.

I usually forget that they have a function and end up not using it.

It’s mostly bc of severe button bloat. On use wouldn’t be an issue if we had more keybind space. Need 70 keybinds to play any class this expac

I like how trinkets bring extra mechanics to the table. It throws some variety into things. And overall, I do agree with the notion that passive trinket mechanics/buffs in general shouldn’t be as powerful as Use or other explicit interaction based trinkets.

Having said that, I do think some of them are a bit… “out there”. I personally don’t really care for “monkey paw” type trinkets. I’m not saying they shouldn’t exist, just that I personally don’t really care for them.

yeah…unless the purpose is specific
need based,
like pvp trinkets…i’d prefer period

I love my Whetstone since I can trigger it when I want. I had the Puzzle Box and I hated it. It might have been BIS, but a 3 second cast time made me almost never use it. I have the storm one from the raid on an alt, and while insane damage, being rooted for 10 seconds in a mythic is tough.

Oh yea I hate them as well. I usually just try to find a decent auto fire trinket. I don’t give a crap if it’s not BIS as long as it’s halfway decent.

Macro’s are your friend. I rarely hit the trinket on-use itself, Ill find a spell with a close CD and lines up when I want to use it the majority of the time… and just macro it in. Solves button bloat and its mostly a fire and forget.

Thankfully for healing, there are few on-use trinkets we take, so this only happens maybe 1-2 times a tier until its replaced by a passive trinket.

depends on the trinket honestly. Some of them i really like especially if they line up with my abilities.

Or if they are super fun to use.
Like what i would give for a new computational pocket device.

As a Fury Warrior with about 30 cooldowns, I can always find one to macro a trinket to. Sometimes I just make a big fat BOOM BOOM button macro and toss the trinkets in that.

No issues.

no i hate when i get an upgrade that’s on use. I add to my spellbar, largely just forget about it. Especially when I have to target another player, so I’ll end up using my life saving trinkets on someone that’s full health, because I forgot what it does and whenever i see it unused i feel obligated to use it.

Nope. You aren’t the only one. I hate On-Use trinkets.

Depends on the on-use.
I do tend to prefer passive things in game, but a solid trinket with a CD matching a similar ability and that can be macro’d together is :ok_hand:

It depends on the on use trinket. The one I have now I’m not in love with, but pop with RoP and my potions anyway so it’s a nice big bit of burst. Kinda meh in the grand scheme of trinkets but fine.
