In my time playing I’ve encountered one or two, but other than that, I never actually see these alleged bots. Maybe because my server is kindof low pop? I don’t know, but I’m really curious how bad botting actually is in these other servers?

Make a horde char on Fairbanks. Walk South of Camp T. Try to find any mobs that aren’t dead from the 100 hunter bots.
I can’t even imagine not regularly running into bots. They’re everywhere on my server
Look harder. We got to a point in which bots are literally creating bot guilds with 100 5-letter bot names and flyhacking into Zul’Gurub.

You probably just aren’t paying much attention. They’re quite common, though to be fair, a lot of them bot in instances where you’d never see them.

We play on the same server. I don’t see them very often either, but I do see them occasionally. If you leveled an alt, you’d see a few out in the questing zones, but certainly not an epidemic. I don’t doubt that it’s worse other places…our server seems to be immune from a lot of the problems that plague other servers. Hopefully it stays that way.
Do a /who stratholme search.
See how many unguilded mages with random names are there.
If there are ever less than 10 troll hunters with 4 or 5 random letter names in eastern Feralas with the exact same pathing (to the point where they often “merge” with each other) who have been logged on for 20 straight hours in your server I guess I’m transferring.
I just leveled an alt to 60 and I saw a few of those. They seem to like Tanaris and Shimmering Flats more than Feralas, but there weren’t a ton of them.
It would be interesting to see a population breakdown of bots by server. I’ve seen them on Windseeker but not that often.
I see them all the time on Blaumeux. A lot of them are in Tanaris, Feralas, and Un’Goro. Bots even selling ZG runs, at least the hackers are. Really disheartening.
Fly to LHC, you wont have to wait long to see a trains of them moving to Strat.
I run loads of Strat and haven’t seen any. I always look for horde to kill there and am normally disappointed. I literally never see them, I think in my time leveling three toons to 60 I’ve seen maybe a total of 5?
Literally, they’re so common and Blizzard is so negligent of them they don’t even attempt to create normal-sounding names.
I’ve seen Xfjo, Aygnj, Ffrxt, and others. Seen a multi-boxing bot with 5 names all starting with something like “Afxfr” and a random letter on the end to differentiate each of them.
Wow. I hope my sons Xfjo and Ffrxt don’t read this. It would really hurt their feelings. You need to keep your judgments about names are “normal” sounding to yourself.

Okay, so I made a toon on my buddy’s server (kromcrush) who plays horde, because he’s been begging, and I definitely saw like 4 Incidents of bot/five boxers just in my journey to level 8. It’s really crazy how different it was
I rarely (or never) see botters on my low-pop PVE server. I even started new characters on a high-pop PVE server to look for bots, but so far I’m only up to level 20 Alliance, so I haven’t seen any.
But I don’t argue. Maybe level-60 players on high-pop PVP servers see a lot more bots than I do. I’m pretty sure they do. No-one would complain this much in the forums about a small number of bots.
Names mean nothing in this game. I’ve played “Xri” for many years. The name has a history for me (originally “Kri” was a mini-“Karix” gnome. I brought “Karix” over from another MMO in 2004).
All the “normal-sounding names” were taken YEARS ago. Have you ever spent half an hour at the character-selection page, trying to create a new character whose name you don’t dislike? I have. As an altoholic, I’ve done that dozens of times. Players with less patience than me probably just use random letters to get past that.
Of course, that doesn’t mean they AREN’T botters… 
On Pagle Alliance side there’s a bunch of dwarf hunter bots killing crabs all day in westfall, as well as mage bots. On Mankrik horde there’s a level 60 Dwarf hunter bot and a level 60 gnome mage bot that runs up and down the coast killing nagas for golden pearls.

I think I’ve seen plenty of hunter-bots on Myzrael in Tanaris and Ungoro (by the tar pits). Haven’t bothered to follow or try to talk to them though, so can’t be 100% sure.
