If I could ask, are you fully geared?
If so, why even bother with RBG’s?

At this point in the season, you’re going to be playing with people who have the minimum pvp ilvl required to queue which brings down the potential team power, it’s just a curse of the system and also some people don’t know you can craft solid pvp items that are almost gladiator level.

It might be better on your blood pressure to wait for Season 2 to come out and try to gear as quickly as possible to get into ranked while people are also gearing.

Battleground ques are much like going bowling. Here are some perfect analogies.

Group 1: The quick match que is comparable to bowling with a group of teenagers who are just there to goof off, have some pizza, play a few arcades.

Group 2: Rated group finder is like bowling with those who adopted the sport as a small time hobby. These folks ordered there own shoes off Amazon but still use the provided bowling balls.

Group 3: There are group finder 3 vs 3 and such; this person is now running in a guild, Discord, like minding guys and such. These hobbyist provide there own gear, attend tournaments, have memberships, has a trainer, and practice alot.

Group 4: This final group has outgrown the use of the group finder entirely instead running with their own folks, do scheduled competition with other guilds, and has a more E-Sport mindset. In bowling, these folks has top rated equipment and compete in weekly tournaments.

The PvE group finder for dungeons works much the same way. In honesty, the most annoying players are ones who are in the higher tier opting to run the lower end content, especially in battle groups and heroics. I often scratch my head thinking “Why the hell would a player doing Mythic + want to steamroll entry level heroics and Battlegrounds?”

Crafting a full set of gear is not worth it unless you are willing to buy gold. Perhaps those who have played more consistently are easily able to afford the gear. Really comes down to not wanting to purchase something that will become obsolete after a few weeks.

I agree!

The highest crafted pvp ilvl is 639, meanwhile the war mode gear is 636 so unless embellishments are very important for whatever reason, then gearing in war mode is more efficient.

I suppose I could’ve mentioned that I only suggest crafting pvp gear if your character can do it and just happens to have the materials laying around.

As tempting as it is to look to everyones gear and be annoyed cause they’re still wearing some greens, I think it’s important to resist that urge. While gear does matter in terms of surviving team fights, I personally would prefer a rogue or druid who knows how to spin a flag than one in full 639 that gets melee brain.

Sometimes you just have a bad roll of your teams, i’ve been in games where I get WSG where the enemy team has two mages, a Mistweaver, and mine has nothing but pallies and warriors/other slow classes with low cc- i’d say if you go more than 3 games in a row losing, it might just be the better play to simply take a lil break to get food or something.

You’re reacting as the majority do, so no. Even in PvE there is a bare minimum. Nobody should join mythic+ without learning fights on at least a heroic level and having the minimum item level suggested for it, and when they do a majority of the time they get flamed and/or removed from their groups. I would suggest a similar standard for PvP. You aren’t a villain for asking the bare minimum of others. It’s a team effort and joining a group just to get one shotted, while being a detriment to your group is kind of trolly, if you ask me. It’s a waste of everyone’s’ time. It does get better when you get above 1800, but before that it feels really rough. Alternatively, I’d suggest running with a group of people you know, that’s the only real guarantee of climbing. Some folks just use RBGs to get PvP gear, but in my opinion, that’s only the beginning. Also, YOOO another might of Kalimdor advocate!
