I’d rather not. I see no significant updates to BfA (some classes need serious tuning as a base level desire).
I said as soon as 8.1.5 was released and they said “no major class changes” that every single good dev was moved to classic or already developing 8.2
Is there any proof the dev team for bfa wasn’t reduced? I mean there can’t be that many workers for classic AND 8.2 AND 8.1.5 live balancing. Is there any proof that my sub (which I buy ONLY for live) isn’t funding the very thing that is hurting my enjoyment?
To be honest I feel betrayed. All of my favorite streamers no longer care about BfA imbalance (largely the greatest pressure on blizzard for significant changes is these streamers). I had to scroll DOWN on twitch to even find content I enjoy (rated pvp).
I’m sure this won’t get better as more people get beta and less are on live.
Basically when I bought BfA nowhere in there did it say I was going to be paying/funding classic.
Make these separate games with separate subs.
Blizzard you really are hurting BfA through neglect and it really shows where your priorities lie. There’s not much money in balancing live so you just move on to the next path because you don’t have enough leftover devs after moving the best of the best to classic?
You’re paying for everything Activision-Blizzard related, that includes worker salaries, development budgets for other games (yeah, mobile included), etc. If you understand how the real world works this shouldn’t come to you as a surprise. You don’t get to choose where your fee money goes to, man.
Haha this is hilarious.
Obviously Classic is just a side project an no you ain’t paying for it’s development.
Classic may end up actually paying for modern development and as such you should be happy it’s around
Yep, that is why classic is part of the subscription, instead of its own thing. Gotta boost those sub numbers…just do not play retail if you do not like it. They keep track of time played… maybe not for shareholders (but internally).
On the contrary, Classic will save your BFA. The huge incoming hordes of subscribers will be just what Blizzard needs to keep the sinking ship named Retail afloat.
Still waiting for basic hotfixes since 8.1.5. Classic has seriously hurt BfA development. Classic is already hurting live. Dev’s were pulled off live to work on classic formatting before it was even announced last summer (Ion stated this in an interview).
I want to thank you for being honest. I have said it before that I believe many BfA players are afraid of the impact Classic will have on modern WoW.
While you needn’t worry about losing Devs to it, as Classic is really a programmer’s feat of melding server technologies and tweaking settings, you can look at it as a positive potential.
Classic is going to bring a lot of new people into the game… well, at least people who have been gone a long time. They represent an influx of money that can go to fund BfA. Let’s face it, modern WoW has been in decline for some time and could use this sort of support.
It could possibly be that the popularity of Classic will provide a means for Ion and friends to rethink their design philosophies and mold modern WoW into something everyone can love again… new and old players alike.
You know, in game development, more people doesn’t always mean more work done. There are steps of development that requires fewer people and instead of firing them, you put them on other projects in the meantime.
I just investigated this with Blizzard. They told me that of your specific payment, they personally make sure that 4/5 of it goes solely to Classic. The other 1/5 goes to snacks.
I realize folks making fun of me and I’m OK with it because the way I feel is justified. Classic has hurt live ya’ll just don’t care cuz excited for classic.
