Seeing this kills my reason to level and play alts, especially how people want to play same spec with all abilities regardless of spec is in game, feels very demoralizing for me, I really hate and I am curious if other have thoughts or hugely disagree with me?
A bit. I’m not looking forward to forcing “new” abilities into my keybinds… crowded enough as is. The RP flavor will be nice, though.
agree, not likely my mages no longer having anything distinctive playstyle and be still mage with mastery one school or something like, bad enough my deathknights are getting butcher soon
It seems like you are suggesting unpruning would mean class homogenization. I would also hate that.
Fortunately I don’t think that should be the case. The spells they’ve identified so far seem like more flavor or something goes strongly to a class like totems. There is a lot of for flavor before everyone starts sharing more of the same abilities than they already do.
Also I doubt there will be that many spells returning.
You’re probably in the minority. Most people enjoy when they aren’t playing gutted versions of their class.
The game was at its most popular before pruning, people still hail MoP as the pinnacle of class design and that was arguably the most bloated the game has been.
If you don’t want to use all your abilities then don’t, most of them aren’t actually needed, they’re flavour abilities that have niche uses which can help increase the skill cap of classes.
I hope so if elitist don’t force to me to use spells or abilities cause it is meta to play it, bad enough clicking is consider a crime as well
God forbid that someone want to increase the skill ceiling of their class.
They’re already dreadfully low across almost every class, and Survival Hunter (Legion) was the last vanguard of high skill ceiling, albeit incarnate onto the wrong spec.
What you mean on that?
Melee Hunter should’ve been a fourth spec, or put onto DH as a third dps spec.
I absolutely loved Legion’s survival hunter, but I feel for the people who lost their absolutely favorite spec to a dumb design decision.
I’m sure you’re not the only one, but everyone I’ve talked to personally (friends who do or have played, guildies, people in trade or general chat in zones) all seem to hold the opposite opinion.
Personally, I hate that so many abilities were pruned in the first place. My classes have less utility, less variety, and the most boring rotations they’ve ever had in this game.
Oh no grandma can’t handle 3 more buttons
You realise that Survival hunter are melee specs til tbc and later mop change it completely to what is wasn’t in first place?
But stampede seems so much fun! Current hunter are too boring, I didn’t play him at all once I hit max level. And that’s coming from a new player.
I can handle more then one button, don’t be jerk about it
They were hybrid, raw melee hunters were trashcans.
The point isn’t what they were during tBC, it’s the fact that the survival playstyle of MoP (which from what I hear, was the absolute height of the spec) was deleted and made into a completely different type of DPS.
it was completely difffent and was Beastmastery spell, I admit they ruin spell from 5 pets summon from your 5 active whistles to crappy straight aoe ability with none of your pets in it
Neither is a, “crime”. If you’re trying to improve and push content that is legitimately difficult, you would want to cure yourself of those self-imposed handicaps. It’s not fair to other people if that’s what is causing issues - if those are causing issues. Plenty of good players still click, it’s just more comfortable for them.
If you want to not use your entire spellbook feel free. Most of the ones they’re adding are flavour that add to the class. Desperately needed since they feel pretty basic and shallow.
Survival was only a melee spec once they changed it. Prior to that, you were supposed to have a hybrid playstyle. It improved your melee but it also improved your range, for example. In Wrath was when it was first viable as a raiding spec (outside of the theoretical deep Surv for high personal DPS with LR), and that was when they changed it from having a weird melee throw in to a more pure ranged option.
I get crapped on for being Beastmastery in pvp and Survival became completely different spec and was super op, that no one wants to play marksman and Beastmastery in pvp and later raids (with lone wolf added), which let me hate that version of survival hunter with huge boiling hatred back then
I don’t like it too. As a frost mage I’ll use only frost abilities, the same as the other specs and yours schools os magic. Thats a reason why I have 3 mages, each one with a different spec, cause it feels different.
