So playing a healer again, and I love mistwalker, level up as one. And I don’t remember healers damage being so low. Like it takes me a good while to kill things, and not even using the one button rotation. Aoe pulls? Using hero talent aoe, and spinning kick tickles.
Maybe I been gone a long time, but I never felt things were this bad. I am about 220ish item level and using adventure weapon. (no luck with vet drops.). I remember open world stuff being super fast and easy. Even at the start of expansion.
It’s probably a bit of a mix: tuning, lower secondary stats, non ideal secondary stats (ie a ton of mastery, I find everything from world quests seems to be full of mastery).
Tuning is coming up soon, not sure how much they’re going to increase damage for MW though (if at all), they put the focus more on converting lower damage to bigger heals through ancient teachings vs actually buffing damage output.
My recommendation is go WW or BrM if you actually wanna do some decent damage.
Since TWW, healer damage has been crushed. There’s absolutely no reason whatsoever to be doing world content as a healer. You will need to spec as windwalker.
Picks up most of the dmg stuff ( minus spirit font because the delve chick was getting chunked ). Pull huge, like all the things, use roll and tiger’s lust to run around and collect all the things with SCK. Then you want to RWK as much as possible, RWK-tft-RWK-RWK-RWK is huge dmg rn. SCK with the proc. Conduit is big dmg. Fish for RWK with tp/bok resets when nothing else to do. Touch of death takes care of the mobs with larger health pools. Mobs melted/melt with this build for me.I keep sheilun’s single target burst for delves because the brann replacement isnt that beefy.
Things usually feel a bit slower on monk though in general with very low haste. Early on try to get as much gear with int upgrades and haste on it.
No, you do not “need” to. ( I always run MW for questing/world content and with the right talents it’s very fun/quick as MW )
Thank you all for advice. And the only reason I did not want to do solo stuff as another spec is I am trying to train myself to know where all my keys are and to learn the spec fully. I don’t mind slower, but group pulls tend to take a long time. I will try out this spec see if it is better thank you.
Leveling as MW actually went pretty fast for me, was the first to 90 in my guild of all classes able to spec in to heals. Don’t know if any went dps to level. Think the first day of early access I got to 84ish and dc’d going into the delve for a quest. Logged for the night, and hit 90 before noon that Friday.
This spec seems to help. Now I can kill things before flowers despawn lol. I felt so weak doing hard prey he ran away before I could beat him. I thought it was me being bad, but when I saw how this spec works it made sense that I don’t need apex for soloing things.
I feel kinda dumb now, thank you all. I could have level a ton faster if I would have just asked you all, or better understood the class lol.
I just noticed: when I did delves I picked up Emperors favor, and tranquil tea and peaceful mending to quickly heal ST dmg but you can toss those 3 points back into spiritfont if you want. The 2nd and third points give you extra RWK dmg, so slightly better for questing where you should be pretty much immortal. I swapped them out because when I was mass pulling in delves +7 she would get chunked for a ton of health at seemingly random times, so I needed something quick to top her back up.
Deff swap those around if you dont need the huge ST nuke heal, you will get another 20% RWK dmg. :3
Another tip too is if you use Fort Brew your max health goes up by a large chunk, which allows touch of death to be used earlier.
