Am I missing something with these "Elemental Storm" things?

I go to the marker on the map and there’s nothing there.
Like, nothing at all. It’s totally normal as if there were no storm at all…

What am I missing? I don’t get it.

Where are the people farming these huge groups of elites? Where are the bosses? Where is the fun stuff that we had in pre patch?

Is it broken/bugged?

I had the same doubts.
Until I read more carefully that the gear is basically cosmetic.
And the cloth set is horrible. I don’t have any intention to farm that.

BTW, the set cloth that comes with the Trading Post is among the most horrible that Blizzard has ever designed.
I hope there are other sets or things to find/buy with Trading Post because if it’s just the set cloth then I’m not even going to go near that system.

these storms empower the mobs already in the area. You farm them for a currency to buy gear that starts out at 359 and can be upgraded to 385. The gear also has set bonuses on it.

I think the game is saturated with transmog. We’d have a lot less recolors for example if there was only one raid difficulty. But um… people like having 4 different raid difficulties to farm out for some reason.

How boring and small.

Bring back the badass elemental invasions we had in pre patch. That was fun.

This is just pathetic.

Blizzard forgot the invasion part. Where are the primalists empowering these mobs? Why don’t they actually exist. Just a way to try and get casuals out to fight overpowered mobs and grind away thousands of currency.

Hey…
I’m all for raids having a single difficulty but being able to be done in groups of varying size.
And that it should be possible to increase the difficulty of each encounter in some way.

Ulduar with the Hard Mode is my example of an ideal Raid.

When you get to an area with a storm, open the Pre-made Group finder and go to custom. You’ll see groups for ___ invasion farm. Join one of those groups, and help kill mobs. You’ll get a drop that can be turned in for storm sigils (one from each type of storm weekly) as well as the overflow stuff. You can earn the gear the other comments mention as well as achievments.

lukewarm take at best
There IS a lot of mog, true, but we’re sorely lacking in some aspects. Ex: turtleneck shirts, colors other than red/yellow/purple, etc.

Yeah I’m really confused here.

There is no difference…

Where is the cool stuff with the invasion though?

There is no invasion. The invasion does not exist.

Am I going crazy here? There’s nothing there. It’s just normal mobs, normal weather, etc. It’s nothing like an invasion.

Those are store items. Doing heroic which is objectively easier than Mythic for a tier set, then having to turn around to do Mythic which is just a recolor of Heroic feels awful. It wouldn’t be this way if it was just a one difficulty raid tier. Then you can add dye drops from bosses to change the color of the tier.

We lack items in general that are simple but good looking.
I honestly got tired of weapons and armor covered with spikes, horns, bones, flames, etc.

Valdrakken’s cosmetic set (level 20) is an example of things that should keep happening.
Simple and beautiful.

And also more options when creating characters.
After creating my Dracthyr I was simply filled with envy when I returned to my Blood Elf.
I want to have double hair color, change the design of the underwear and its colors.
More options in jewelry and variety of colors wouldn’t hurt.

Completely true and real.

#RemoveLFR btw but that is not the point here. There should be 2 difficulties of raid… anyway. yeah, these invasions are a joke.

You can buy ilvl 350 gear in Valdrakken (same room as the weekly invasion quest) and upgrade it to 389 gear. Either to use or for transmog.

Yeah don’t need any of that.

I just want something cool to do in the game. Grinding nameless mobs for 1 currency that you need 2000 of is not fun nor is it cool.

this is so true…I mean…cool for those who are transmog collectors…Happy they at least have something to grind for & get

but…every single vendor…transmog?
or…dragon decorations?

I don’t care anything about mog, and sure dont care what the noisy loud mouthed dragons look like …don’t mind it being there for those who do…but daaaaang…seems that’s what the whole xpac is about ?

meh…okay then

I can never find a group doing these, but |I too wish they were more like the pre-launch invasions, make them more fun…

Hmm, so far the only storm i’ve seen not work 100% is when its over the Dragonbane Keep area, and we have control of it. Also if its the storm in Thaldraszus, at The Temporal Conflux you have to enter the portal to gain access to that storm area. Otherwise there should be infused mobs where the icon is.

I found joining Premade Groups (under Custom) the easiest way to farm these areas. There tends to be 10+ groups going for each area.

I asked ChatGPT AI how to improve this feature and this is the response:

  1. Add more variety: One way to make elemental storms more interesting and engaging could be to introduce a wider range of storm types, each with its own unique visual effects, gameplay mechanics, and challenges. This could include storms that feature different elements (e.g. fire, ice, lightning), storms that have different intensities or durations, or storms that affect different parts of the game world.
  2. Incorporate weather-based gameplay mechanics: Another way to make elemental storms more exciting could be to introduce gameplay mechanics that are directly tied to the storms. For example, players could be given new abilities or challenges based on the type of storm they are facing, or the storms could affect the way that players navigate or interact with the game world.
  3. Add story elements: Integrating story elements into the elemental storms feature could add more depth and context to the storms, and make them feel more meaningful and impactful to the game world. This could include NPC characters or quests that are directly tied to the storms, or cutscenes or other in-game events that help to flesh out the story behind the storms.

Overall, the key to spicing up the elemental storms feature in WoW may be to add more variety, depth, and interactivity to the storms, and to find ways to make them feel more integral and meaningful to the game world and its lore.

I could have told you this!

I was just curious if I was missing something or if it was bugged… it’s very bad.

I hope to god that the next “content” patches we get are actually something with content in them and not just killing the same random trash mobs in the world for nearly no reason.

if they offered some cute skirt mogs i’d actually put real time in them. they are kind of boring.
