Yesterday I spent a few hours killing rares on my Warlock and purchased several of the ilvl 100 Argent pieces, both for catch up gear as well as for the xmog.
However, when I log on to my priest (as an example) I don’t have access to the xmogs. Are these xmogs character specific?
AFAIK they’re armor type specific. That is, once you get the cloth transmog, it should be available on any cloth wearer. At worst through, they’d be class specific, meaning you’d have to earn them on every class, but that is unlikely.
I’ve noticed that happening on my characters too, and it seems to update and unlock the appearances on all my chars of the same armor type after the 2 hr refund timer expires.
I do equip the items and confirm the dialogue box that it makes them unable to be refunded, but it still takes the full 2 hrs for them to be available on my other chars of the same armor type.
No idea why it works that silly way, but it does.
My warlock and priest are both Horde and both cloth wearers. The priest still does not have the appearances available. I’ve also equipped the items on my warlock to bypass the 2 hour lockout.
I collected the pieces yesterday before I went to sleep, still not available on my priest.
Not all pieces are faction- specific - I posted a screenshot on here last week showing the shoulders I got on my alliance paladin mogged on my horde paladin.
There’s something weird going on with these sets in particular. Some pieces cross over and some don’t, and it’s inconsistent between armor types on which ones do.
Just had a look, I have most of the mog on a horde shaman, checked horde hunter (same armor type and faction), no mog, checked alliance shaman (same class, diff faction), no mog.
Thank you! I keep explaining I’ve done all the things (2 hour windows, same faction, same armor type, equipping the items, etc) and nothing is working.
Try logging into the character that bought the pieces again, and logout. There is some strange bugs for these transmog to “register” account wide. They are account wide and can be shared between factions. Just need some time to show up on everyone.
If logging in and out didn’t work, browsing for the pieces in the transmog tab on the character that bought them. And hope they will register for the account.
Some of the pieces are identical to other BFA pieces (for example, some of the plate Argent pieces are identical to some of the uncanny crafted gear in blacksmithing). So you may have the mog under a different label/name.
I’ll try this out, but I have a nagging suspicion it won’t actually make a difference.
This seems to be pretty buggy. I don’t see the point in doing this to collect appearances if they’re character specific, and I can’t really think of other instances of character specific xmogs. Heck even artifact appearances work account wide for duplicate classes.
You might be on to something. When I look up “Argent” under helm on my warlock nothing comes up (despite having it equipped) but it shows up for the shoulder. I’ll log into my priest next and try this out.
Even more oddly, if I type in “Argent” under helm, nothing comes up, but when I manually click through the pages the appearance is there under that name. I guess I’ll have to check on my priest. If this is the case it seems like that “Search” functionality needs some attention! lol
Yeah, it’s really strange. I have almost all the armor sets on alliance. I need to go hop on my horde toons and see which pieces transfer across faction. There are still some subtle differences I’ve noticed on a few pieces - for example, the Argent plate belt I bought alliance side is not the same as the Argent plate belt on horde side. But the shoulders are the same, lol. It’s definitely a pain for folks who like collecting these things.
