I’m an enchanter on my main and this current expansion is really making me regret it. I’m sitting on 435 Acuity right now, and I have been doing EVERY Patron order I can find. I logged in tonight for the first time since reset to see a whopping ONE Patron order. The reward? Ten acuity to make a glamour. Every other character I log in to has half a dozen Patron orders a day, why is enchanting getting the shaft? I’ve only purchased the first two Artisan’s books for Enchanting, and I haven’t even made a single upgraded item yet that uses Acuity (no crafting tools, no crafted items… I haven’t had enough surplus to justify it!) I feel like I must be missing something, but everywhere I look I get the same info, “Patron orders and first time crafts of purchased recipes” … except the purchased recipes… Cost ACUITY to purchase.
I feel like I’m waiting for blizzard to release Artisan’s Acuity packs in the real money shop or something. Maybe they’ll throw Valorstones up there, too?
Enchanting is in a weird spot. It gets a weekly gathering quest, whereas other crafting professions get a crafting order quest. It also gets achity+knowledge through gathering (disenchanting) with a weekly cap. Beyond those two, and your patron orders, there is your cap for each week from enchanting, and you can get more from your other primary profession.
if you aint using the other profession slot just cycle the gathering profs weekly for extra acuity, can do first crafts on tailoring and leatherworking also for easy one off acuity. you keep the knowledge you already got just resets the level and dropped recipes learned
My other primary is herbalism 
AFAIK gathering professions have no ability to get Acuity, which really sucks for double gatherers. I don’t get any acuity from DEing. I get knowledge items up to the weekly cap, but have yet to see any acuity drop from those disenchants. Is that bugged?
you get 5 acuity per knowledge point gained, so if you drop herbalism after gaining your knowledge you can get like another 50 acuity from mining per week then can grab herbalism again, can do it for skinning as well. only thing that will happen to your herbalism is youll lose 100 skill towards gathers till it relevels up

Keep disenchanting you will get emm 5 acuity shards about 7 Of them per week I believe
Oh damn, I didn’t realize you get Acuity for every knowledge point gained. That’s a game changer. I guess I wasn’t tracking it that closely.
I definitely don’t care if herbalism is maxed out skill point-wise. I’ll definitely do the gathering swap to rush acuity. Thanks!
Not quite every KP grants it but most KP sources do.
I think the First Craft bonus on Trainer recipes don’t give any.
Enchanting also has two treasure/wax KP drops every week.
