We will be loading screen for new Zone we enter? If true, darn , that talent gutted from blizzard Is really showing itself now.
Please tell me its fake.
Edit: Use the more accurate word seamless not open world in title.

It fits with the story and new zones since they are all disconnected from each other in lore and all that jazz. Plus, how many times are you going to be swapping between zones for it to matter?
Can you clarify what exactly you’re talking about?
Like moving from the Alliance area to the Horde area in BfA. It has a loading screen.
I don’t know if WoW could be considered open-world in the first place.
It’s nothing new OP. The zones aren’t connected to one another.
To me open world is me going to the fp in light hope and fly all the way down to booty bay without ever seeing a loading screen. Even kul toras i can fly from one end of stormsong valley and make an lap to tirigrade sound and drustvae without seeing a loading screen.
Ff for all that i love it makecthe world feel dead by map zoning. Its like leaving boralus harbor would have a loading screen and entering drustvar another loading screen.
With all these zones spread out, are they giving us a portal circle like in Cata?
You can fly from the bottom of Eastern Kingdoms to the top without zoning in or out, and it takes like half an hour. I’d say that’s open world.
The fact you can traverse from Darkshore to Uldum without a single loading screen would kind of indicate it is open world, and with the way they have set it all up it would be possible to also have no loading screen to pretty much any zone. But lore and all that with how the world is, it just helps to reload when you swap to certain areas.
you heard it right. it’s like babylon 5. every zone has their own jump gate. you pass through the jump gate, and hit hyperspace. you then arrive at your destination.
I mean… yes?
Like, the various shadow lands are physically seperated from each other to the point where they might as well be different planets. But with that having been said, I suspect that each land is going to be multiple zones in their own right, so it isn’t like we’re going to be shoved into relatively tiny shards.
Yeppers.
That level of MMORPG immersion is sacrificed so they can make smaller maps like Argus style that is not connected to the WoW world in any way. Furthermore the zones have no interesting boundaries between one another.
BC zones were sort of “disconnected” and yet BlizZard made it work. But that was back then with a better dev team.
And with Cata zones were disconnected from one another while nestled between lower level zones which did not work out at all.
I smell a dumpster fire with systemlands. My body is ready for it.
You know, that dev team even admitted they didn’t like how it turned out, which is why Pandaria was so large. It’s really odd to me that they’re picking the worst parts of old xpacs to bring back lol
Only the zones in Shadowlands will work this way.
it shouldn’t be odd to you, it’s what they do. then they say they learned from that experience, and then do something else stupid that was done before.
I would like this confirmed as not being on Beta I can only confirm from what information we have and it looks like it is one zone per area, we just start with 5 zones only and the Oribos. Hopefully they are large enough though, but than again Legion only started with 5 zones and Dalaran and we had no issues there.
I don’t find it odd because this dev team thinks they are better than the old dev team.
The only criteria I put to it is going wherever you want whenever, and it just about does that
the zones are separated for story reasons, not technology
weren’t the argus zones the same?
pretty sure it’s just the exact same thing
