Am I blind or are some indicators just.... bad?

I feel a bunch of dungeons (mainly DF ones) have this thing where their indicators for certain attacks are barely visible. Academy and Azure Vault have these soft-colored, somewhat transparent lavender/pink swirlies on a similarly colored floor that makes it a pain to see.

Ruby Life Pools dragons that are present only on m0 and higher (one fire one thunder) have a breath attack that not only is really quick it also has an almost unnoticeable indicator that sorta becomes hard to see depending on the angle you’re watching it. They’re somewhat transparent as well, with the lightning breath being the hardest one to see.

Maybe I am just blind :frowning:

You are correct imo. There’s a lot of blue swirlies that blend in to the ground, the ones in Azure Vault and Jade Temple immediately come to mind. Also can we nerf trees while we’re at it? Constantly blocking my view.

Court of Stars is pretty heinous about this with the ground visuals for some attacks being the same color palette. The cone strike from the regular guards is practically invisible.

I agree, I have issues at times with multiple overlapping ground effects especially when the colors can blend in with the environment.

I don’t know if some seem to think making mechanics difficult to see is supposed to be part of what makes the content hard - because that is just poor design. Making someone strain their eyes a little bit more in order to make content more challenging is ridiculous and lazy. They may not be doing that so maybe I’m just arguing against myself but I really just hope they improve some of these.

On top of this I’m also having camera issues. Feels like I’m struggling to actually see the playing field much of the time.

Temple is really bad here, always some dumb tree in the way.

As for swirls to dodge, its also becoming rediculously overused. Like every pull is dodging swirls on top of the affix. There’s plenty of other models to use for “dont stand in bad…”

we lost a tank in Temple last night because of the trees before the sha party…

still traumatized from SoA…except this time we can’t use our corgie goggles to save us though :broken_heart:

The funny bit is, that on that same dungeons on those same pulls where I am noticing the barely noticeable swirlies. There are mobs that have the complete opposite, neon blue swilries with a black center that are INCREDIBLY noticeable, in fact, I think that might be making my brain notice the transparent lavender swirlies even less

I’ve been saying this forever.
Visibility and clear mechanics projection should be prioritized over aesthetics. Good eyesight =/= skill expression.

Yep, I don’t think people with even a slight visual impairment are able to do m+ at a medium-high level.

Blizz prioritizes asesthetic over functionality. There no reason I should have to squint hard as hell on the last boss of CoS just to see where I shouldn’t stand because there’s some 75% opacity gray lines I need to avoid on a gray-ish color floor.

Between this on going issue and how much the thundering debuffs look alike, this first week has been nothing but frustrating, and taking the enjoyment of the dungeons away from me. I’ll give it a couple weeks, and if nothing changes I’ll be taking a break from the game until the next seasonal affix.

Dragon breath is typically not telegraphed. Just don’t be in front of them.

The worst is CoS end boss imo
