Am I the only one here who has no interest in TBC?
I mean, I hope it happens for you guys that want it, but I hope it doesn’t kill Classic.
Half the posts here are concerning TBC, but has it even been announced yet that it will happen?

No you’re not alone. First of all Blizzard never officially announced it but released a survey seeing how many were interested in it. This forum is an echo chamber and many here for some reason want TBC. I’m quite indifferent, personally.

I also have 0 desire to play TBC. I think people are posting because it’s the next logical step. I also think Blizzard would be missing out on a big revenue stream in going the same direction as retail, where it could just create new content in the same vein as classic and people would buy it.

Many, many people want TBC and view it as WoW’s golden age. It’s basically inevitable after this low-budget Frankenvanilla doubled WoW’s subs.
Why do that when they can spend a relatively tiny amount of money and effort for massive gains?

When/If TBC gets released it the WoTLK crowd will show their heads and you will start to hear more about that. What you will find on these forums is that people are fairly extreme about their favorite version of the game.
It’s likely TBC only lasts a year before they release WoTLK, and the TBC lovers will say “No they will stop there”, not realizing their argument holds no weight.

I disagree, WOTLK was the most populated time of WoW. Every single one of my friends thinks that was the “golden age”.
What’s going to suck, is if there’s no more classic only, and they move passed it, I won’t have any WoW to play again

I would be willing to play through wrath, though I think they started making changes that ruined the game. I also think wrath made some positive changes. I think tbc/wrath end game is “wow” to me.

Ok? Lots of people think Wrath is the best. Lots of people think TBC is the best. I don’t care what your friends think. You can’t “disagree” that other people hold this opinion. lol
Because they are heading down a path that leads to numbers that will plummet, and they could rope in brand new players. Mind you, not for years, but still…

Nope. I have zero interest in TBC. In fact I quit WoW back when they released it the first time and did not come back until Classic was released.

No, you are certainly not alone. Just acknowledge that due to the insane decision to combine classic and retail in one sub, the bloat of classic players are retail locusts who will of course move on to TBC.
My hope is that when this happens, either blizzard will reset classic servers or open new ones, untainted by the sweaty, neckbeard, speedrunning, booster, retail locusts.
The best thing for vanilla classic would be for TBC to happen. Drain the swamp.

pretty sure blizz stated they’d keep some server frozen in time?
recreating a new set of FRESH server is also pretty easy?
WoW also has the population to sustain a couple of those server ( altho, in many many many year, keeping a small fleet of frozen server might prove needlessly expensive).
not sure what your concern are? Yes, a whole bunch of people will move to TBC server and won’t keep playing on classic, especially after few naxx clears… but you already knew that from your PServer days, didn’t you?
not at all. i have no interest playing the burning crusade.
if anything, the hype surrounding “the inevitable” TBC has caused my drive to keep playing classic to consistently wane.

You think re releasing WoW’s best expansions won’t do this? I have people in my guild who had never played WoW before.

You want the people who have produced retail to improve and expand classic, how do you think that is going to go? At least with BC their damage will be limited.

I think they already pigeonholed themselves into a certain type of game. Classic will allow them to go in a different direction. Do I think they CAN do better than retail? Absolutely. I don’t know if they will, or want to though.
