I am finished farming the pollen for the bee mount and i have zero crystal shards.
on average, these things are supposed to drop 1-5 shards per thousand mobs.
do mobs even drop these things anymore?

when i was farming for the flying spider area mount i was at 8/10 for the shards and have not gotten another one to this date and i am at 400 pollen

I’ve been making it a point to level in Dorn on all my alts for crystals, they are still dropping. I got my 5th a few days ago.

Blizzard has continuously nerfed every “good” farm for Crackling Shards since the expansion launched, to the point that there is no longer any location that makes it feel worth the time. At this point I’m just killing rares I see on the Isle daily for their slightly-higher chance and moving on, as it isn’t worth the time otherwise.
Skyshards had effective farms back in MoP while still dropping at a 1 in 1000 chance and Blizzard didn’t touch that. I don’t see why they couldn’t have left this alone. Alunira is now far more of a grind than Alani ever was.

I think I got one during bees, if any. I got one or two from leveling / dailies.
The rest I got from doing my Siesbarg grind in the zone. That’s why you should do the grind for Siesbarg there instead of anywhere else, even if it’s slightly longer.
I received my first crystal two weeks ago and found another last week for a total of 2. For what it is worth, I have not been intentionally farming.
How long ago did you do this? The popular farm spot for Siesbarg quests in Isle of Dorn had its droprate for Crackling Shards nerfed into the ground.

I have 2 so far. Seems like something scaled around hyperspawn botters.
I had 9/10 when I was done with that. Finished the bee, still had 9/10. Had to join bee groups for like another 45 minutes or so to get it.

I have three of the shards. Every single one of them was obtained while doing the honey and nerubian world quest next to the bees.
I have 2 shards from just not trying to farm for them.
I have 7 level 80s, max renown, bee mount and siesbarg, delve achievement completed and still haven’t seen a single shard.
I spent 5 hours one day farming spiders in hallowfall and still nothing. I gave up, this mount doesn’t want me to have it.
I honestly was wondering the same. After they nerfed the drop rate with the dwarf area. I never farmed it but never seen any drop either. And I farm for leather too.
Is the drop rate broken? Time wasted again. GG.
I had 4 drop in the first 30 days, have not really seen one since and I am on 80 #9. I wish I knew.
Hallowfall? Of course you won’t get any there, they don’t drop in that zone. They only drop in the above-ground Isle of Dorn zone at an abysmally low rate.
