Decided to level my mage for funsies as arcane and noticed that after xmoging my staff to an aluneth option
a) aluneth now whispers way more than it did in bfa, seems that’s been fixed (didn’t try the lamb option yet)
b) the voice sounds different!
It’s been soooo long since I’ve played that alt and my memory could just be off, but did anyone else think aluneth’s voice actor got changed?
I’ve always used Aluneth; and can confidently say with like at least 69.420% certainty that Blizzard wouldn’t spend resources on rerecording the Aluneth voicelines.
I do miss the Woolmancer’s Charge Aluneth form not turning into a fluffy sheep head when you polymorph…
I imagine that the change when you polymorph was a flavor spell effect applied to your character when the woolmancer appearance was applied in the Hall of the Guardian.
Doesn’t sound one bit different to me and I had him equipped for all of Legion.
If it was voiced by quintin flynn then he might be redone. They redid all of Kael’thas voice lines recently due to reasons and I don’t think they want to associate with him.

I haven’t noted any changes and I’ve had Aluneth as my transmog since the start of SL.
It wasn’t. The voice actor for Aluneth is Matthew Mercer.
I don’t believe he was arrested but there have been allegations of sexual harassment and inappropriate interactions with fans, some of whom were underaged, swirling around him for some time apparently.
