Alts cannot get the time rift weekly quest "When Time Needs Mending", bug or intended?

Some of my alts can, some cannot. Alts that have never been logged in since the patch can sometimes get the quest, but some still can’t even on their first login.

I’m just randomly logging in on them, and just stay online on those that can pick up the quest until the next rift comes. There seems to be no rhyme or reason on why some can and some cannot pick it up.

I wish they paid attention to this and at least acknowledged that it’s an issue.

That’s how it is for me as well, some of my alts in the 60s can even get it, it’s weird.

Right. I had a 60 that could, then one that could not, now on the third that just picked it up and will do it in 17 minutes.

Two 70’s got the rift weekly, so far my alts are getting Dragonbane Deep. Dragonbane Keep needs a shorter timer - every 2 hours is too long, especially for people that have multiple characters and work 40+ hours a week, let alone families and other responsibilities.

It does, because it appears to be tied to the same bug. It seems that every character who accepted Aiding the Accord before a Time Rift completion on the account, got the Time Rift. Everyone who accepts it after the quest is completed once, gets Dragonsbane Keep. Which means it IS connected to the game treating the Rift quest as weekly per account, since after the first completion it gives a different quest.
Also, yes it is wrong, because if you pay attention, the only time an alt receives a “different” Aiding the Accord, it’s because the game is flagging them as not eligible for the “main” feature. In other words, when it’s Sniffenseeking, everyone gets Sniffenseeking UNLESS the game thinks they do not meet the requirements for that feature, and then it gives something different. So when people are receiving Dragonsbane keep after (and to my knowledge ONLY after) completing the Time Rift quest once on their account, it is because the game is flagging them as no longer eligible to complete the Time Rift this week. So it is absolutely connected and is likely a symptom of the same bug which renders alts unable to accept the quest from Soridormi, and is therefore useful information to include in a bug report thread as it provides more information about the circumstances of the bug.

I’m having the same issue on my alts.

TBH, time rifts have been absolutely awful. It’s so disappointing.

can’t get soridormi’s weekly on alts either, amazed at how broken this event is

this still isn’t fixed despite the small patch today

I bet it will be fixed after the reset. At that point I will have all the rewards anyways…

same problem here

Same problem, multiple alts were not able to pick up time rift quest. Aiding the accord quest for all of these with this issue is not for time rift as well (it is for siege). Tried abandoning it multiple times but will not give aiding the accord for time rift. One of the biggest selling points for the event is to gear up alts and most alts can’t even get the quest with the main rewards of the rift… 4 days into this and not even an acknowledgement there is an issue… (although not surprising)

The lack of acknowledgment is really disappointing, as it’s obviously not working as intended. Some people are able to pick up the quest on multiple characters, some not, so whether it is intended to be per character or account-wide, either way it’s not working right. It’s not like not acknowledging it makes people notice it any less. It would actually be a much better move PR wise to just admit there’s a problem, state how it’s intended to work, and that they are working on it. Come on, it’s not that hard.

It might be intentional or one theory is that it was fixed but not retroactively so if you did it on one character day 1 then it’s locked for the week as many have said they still got it on some alts. Not a single alt of mine got the quest and I did it day 1 on my main.

I mean it doesn’t help that this thread was hijacked by people talking about aiding the accord when whether or not it’s time rift has no bearing on completion. So dev comes and sees all that garbage and the point gif buried.

#1–It’s a related issue, as I have already explained, since picking up Aiding the Accord prior to completing rift quest on the account gives a different result than picking it up after, which is likely a symptom of the same bug and therefore possibly helpful to devs trying to figure out what’s going on.

#2–No dev is going to miss the title and opening post of the thread and “get lost” in subsequent posts. If they are even reading that far, it’s because the information may be relevant. Most likely, they are not even getting that far.

#3–A bump is a bump.

It is not related as the rewards are vastly different. You can still get the rewards of aiding the accord. You can keep saying they’re related but it’s not. A lie will remain a lie. I’ve constantly throughout the expansion had 1-2 alts not have the same quest and as I said earlier it doesn’t matter. You can still complete it no matter what. This thread is about people being unable to get the sori weekly which rewards a new currency in a large amount and having alts unable to do it is detrimental to getting the cosmetics. There is no link to the valdrakken weekly.

The rewards ARE vastly different.

That’s not the point. The point is that every character who accepts Aiding the Accord BEFORE completing the Soridormi quest gets the Time Rift version, and every character who accepts it AFTER gets Dragonsbane Keep.

It is absolutely related to the game treating the Soridormi quest as account-wide. It is not causing it, but it is absolutely a side effect of the same bug.

It’s like saying a fever is not relevant to the nausea you’re having. Fever and nausea might be vastly different symptoms, but they are both likely from the same underlying cause, and noting that both of them are present could help with diagnosis and treatment.

Same idea here.

Someone else even reported that accepting Aiding the Accord on an alt caused the Soridormi quest to be marked as complete on that character, whereas before it was not.

I have also had alts who got different Aiding the Accord quests before this week as I also mentioned, but ONLY in cases where the game flagged them as ineligible for the main activity. Also, to my knowledge, no one is reporting that some characters are getting Time Rift, some Dragonsbane, some Suffusion Camp or whatever – No, everyone is saying that EVERY character who accepted Aiding the Accord before completing Soridormi’s quest got the Time Rift version, and EVERY character who accepted it after got Dragonsbane Keep. That is pattern that reflects the behavior with which the game is currently treating the Soridormi quest, i.e, Account-Wide.

This next point IS a bit of a tangent, but it actually DOES make a difference because Dragonsbane Keep runs at the same time (at the top of the hour) as the Time Rifts, so if I am doing Dragonsbane Keep to complete Aiding the Accord, I am not able to run that particular Time Rift. For people who have limited time or a lot of alts, that means they may have to choose between doing Time Rifts or Aiding the Accord, which is another reason why I think this is a bug and not intended.

I have much difficulty believing that, out of almost every single one of these bug reports on the Time Rifts and the related quest stuff, I have yet to see a single blue post response on any of them as of yet.

Blizz seems to be staying suspiciously silent over this. Leaves me wondering if Activision decided to burn the house down over the MS sale.

This is still bugged post-“maintenance”.

I got on my main and did the quest. I then logged onto an alt. The quest was available. Did not pick it up. I logged out of the alt and back in, and the quest was no longer available for this alt.

Logged onto a second alt, who is able to pick up the quest. Picked it up and waiting for the rift in 15 minutes.

It looks like you only have one chance to pick up and do the quest on alts: the first time you log into them post maintenance. After that, it disappears.

Wish they’d at least acknowledge the bug.

After the hotfixes that were posted for today, it seems highly likely the account-wide nature of this quest is intended. Kind of ridiculous considering how many mog items there are from the weekly reward currency only, but this is a very obvious thing they probably know about and they chose not to take action despite modifying a lot of other things about it.
