Alts as NPC followers

I have a simple suggestion, maybe for the next expansion:

Allow us to “hire” our alts as a follower, who runs with an AI, doesn’t loot, but gets xps. So, for example I could take my warrior main, and bring my priest alt along as a follower. She gets xps as we go adventure, helps heal me, and levels up at least somewhat while we travel.

They shouldn’t get any loot, with one exception: if a boss or chest drop is specific to class, then if that item would have dropped for the NPC follower, then you get an item that you can mail them that turns into that item for the follower when you open it in the mail with them.

This not only helps level up healers who are agonizing to level up, but it also makes less potent dps types have a hand up when going out, and helps deal with powerful enemies.

I must have missed this.

I actually think it’s a great idea having Alts as followers.

I’d love having an alt run with me, heck give me 4 alts and let’s go knock out some dungeons!

This would mean less active play time so i would guess its not ever going to happen.

I do love this idea. I mean, I miss Meatball from Legion always hanging out with me where ever I went. It’s been done before “followers”. I don’t see why not. But again… this is another one of those “messes with time metrics” idea that will never see the light of day.

Not sure about the XP part and it being a thing but yeah having alts as NPC’s would be fantastic. It would most likely be a very weak NPC(as it should, otherwise itll be nightmare for wpvp)

I already love my stewart following me around. My orc warrior following me would be even more perfect,- i like to think he’s this panda’s husband… Preferably me as the orc and this rogue being the follower most of the time.

I cannot deny, it is pretty pathetic. But the format of this board really buries stuff in a hurry :frowning:

I love this idea… I mean I’m not sure about the alt getting rewards but it would be fun to pal around with some of them.

SWTOR has the companion that follows you everywhere that keeps you healed, which is pretty cool honestly and definitely helps me enjoy my game. :slight_smile:

I was thinking of this as a way to help level up characters that aren’t very good soloing as well as something fun to do with your character.
