Why do alts not receive Echoes of Ny’alotha on their first run through of the zone invasions, as they unlock the assaults? I just completed these quests on two alts and got 0 echoes on either toon. Is this intended? It seems like you would want to give them echoes to start buying the essences since that is what they were originally added for…
I’ve never been able to use the sodding things for anything since I’ve unlocked bugger all of the essences because doing so is a pain in gravy trumpet.
After the expansion of echoes to be used as currency beyond essences, they changed the ability to loot echoes for characters that did not have their cloak yet. Before the change as you were unlocking the cloak when echoes were just for essences, you would get echoes on your cloak questline. Now that is not the case. Meaning you have to unlock the cloak first then you’ll get your echoes.

Just so everyone is aware; there is a loophole I just found on the third toon. Seems you can wait to actually turn in the assault quest after you obtain the trophies from the end boss, then obtain the cloak through the quest line, and go back to turn in the assault quest in order to obtain the first week’s echoes.
