Which is more rewarding for you in the long run??? Leveling a lot of alts…or perfecting the characters you already have???
Why not both?
Yes, both. Whatever I’m in the mood for.
Lol when I try to do both at the same time I end up getting neither done so I just have a bunch of capped or near capped characters all with sub-par gear, that’s just me though.
Alts for me. Im not into hardcore raiding or mythics over +6
And sub-par professions and everything else right???
Perfect all your alts
100% achievement completion on every character
I don’t equate “Completionist” with perfecting a character, but with Achievement hunting. Maybe Maximizing or Perfectionism for what you described? But my answer is both. I have one char for Achievement hunting, and the a bunch of alts. My husband is definitely the perfectionist/effectiveness type.
For some things I see some of my accomplishments between my alts and my main as more of a team effort. My main always gets geared first though, then my alts. But I do my best with them.
Altoholism for the win! Just unlocked three more of the allied races, so I’ll be flouncing about with them for a while.
Someday (hahahaha) they’ll all be capped, and then I can focus on “perfecting” them.
I have my ally main that always does all or most of the story as possible without raids and dungeons, and then achievs and a lot of times the first runs for mounts and transmogs. Then whatever horde main I’m running will do the same on that side, especially if the story line is different at all.
After that, my game is leveling alts, because I love the questing and leveling process overall and end game is not my game.
So yeah, altoholic here, and I’m totally fine with it.
I do a little of both. It helps me maintain balance in my WoW life
They go hand in hand. Having many alts helps with a lot of things.
17 alts 15 of which have cloak and 16/17 are what was the old 460 or above ilvl. My rogue can rot for all I care. Banker you know what.
I think I mix the two.
I like getting nice progress on an individual character and having that character get superior outcomes. Push harder content, enjoy the rewards.
But I also don’t like getting punished for not being a completionist on alts by being forced to repeat the same questlines/grinds to finally get a character to a point where I can do w/e content I want to start gearing up. I like to ding level cap and not have a pile of chores to do, though i guess my actions speak differently because ive suffered through the cloak questline about 20 times now.
I have a lot of alts and almost never pursue achievements. Achievements I will go for have a cool reward like a title or a mount or something.
If I’m close to completing a meta achievement I’ll try and finish that but I generally don’t care about them.
I’ve never finished the skyrim storyline because I always get a new idea for a new build. I have no chance in a game like this
Oh man… I swear I read the title of this post as “Alcoholism” vs Completionist… figured this was going to be a waaaaay crazier discussion that it is.
Account wide achievements made it easier to have alts and be a completionist. But, my OCD gets me every time if I know I didn’t earn it on my main character
