Altoholics..psst..come in here

Is there an addon out there that can keep track of my 24 toons and each one that has done the daily dungeon or daily whatever?( Take love dungeon for instance) Just curious.

Also, feel free to let me know about other addons that are an asset for altholics like myself!(besides Altoholic, I already have that one installed.) Thanks!

Yes, SavedInstances does exactly what you describe.

Aside from that one, I also use Altoholic like yourself (which, thankfully, was picked up by a community member for future management, since the original author tapped out.)

“GetLink” can be helpful as well when it comes to locating items. Sure, Altoholic has a search, but GetLink can be used on the command line. So, for example, if you want to see how many Riverbud you have across all your toons, you’d just type:

/gl Riverbud

Which would bring up a link to Riverbud - hover it and the tooltip info from Altoholic will show which toons and how many.

I’m mentally going through my addons and I can’t think of any others that directly relate to alt management.

Good luck! :grinning:

SavedInstances is quite the mod but it has some serious issues if you have a LOT of characters on same server. The text becomes super tiny and impossible to read.

Yeah, GetLink sure is. Not only do I use it all the time like I described above - just to see where items are and how many I have - but it’s useful any time you need to look at an item. Any item, like a pet, mount, gear … literally just /gl (partial name) and then hover the tooltip for info.

Good stuff!

Yeah I agree I have seen those complaints on the comments for SavedInstances. Not sure if there was any resolution or a community fix.

Hmm yeah I have 12 on each server/faction. I just installed it,so I’ll see how bad it is. Thank you for the tip!

FYI I logged into all my allies and the text is not too bad with 12 toons.I can see how it can get a lot worse very quick though lol.

Old school here…I keep it very simple.

Multiple monitors.

Word Document.

Across the top is the list of things I want to do this week.

Down the left side is my list of Alts.

I have the word DONE multiple times across each toon…under each item I want to do.

Do it…I highlight DONE in yellow.

Tuesday resets…highlight the entire page and erase all highlights. Start over.

Works for me.

Yeah, I hear ya, I am old school myself. I have documents for mission progress I need to track, “To-Do” lists, etc., as well as spreadsheets for tracking my wealth goals and long-term boss kills. Those things are beneficial to have, and there aren’t really any decent addons that track these things to the degree of detail or in the aesthetic manner I want.

Thing is, with SavedInstances, I literally just need to hover the icon and all my lockout information appears. It allows me to keep my second monitor free for other things, like maybe the other documents I maintain… or MusicBee… or Netflix LOL. When I don’t want to see the info anymore, I move the mouse away from the icon. Access to the info couldn’t be easier.

In addition, SavedInstances eliminates the need to maintain yet another document. It records the kills and keeps track of the lockouts all on its own; no need for you to interact.

It also keeps track of emissaries, warfront completion, world boss kills, island expeditions, currencies and weekly quests in addition to the dungeon and raid lockouts. All of this in a fully and easily customizable package.

No, I don’t work for SavedInstances LOL

But honestly, if I was suddenly teleported to the Bizzarro universe and ended up as an “Addon Salesperson” then I would surely recommend it to my customers. It’s uber-convenient, and for what it does, it beats a manually maintained document by a country mile.

What about across servers? TSM and my bag addon ArkInventory can both show me how many of an item I have on the realm on the tooltip

Well, the information on the tooltip is a function of Altoholic, not Getlink.

But as far as Altoholic goes, yeah, you can have it list every single toon across as many servers as you want in that tooltip.

I believe the choices are:

  • This realm, this account
  • This realm, all accounts
  • All realms, this account
  • All realms, all accounts

Yikes lol

Why not spreadsheet?

Also have you heard of the addon Executive Assistant? You might like it.

I’ve never seen that for tooltip, I’ve seen it for regular altoholic search though. I’ll have to look around a bit.

I have exceeded Altoholic’s abilities… so I had to rely on an out of game solution. An addon that takes all the information, like Alto, but without a UI trying to load it all in game on demand.

It is both Altoholic and SavedInstances. \o /

It doesn’t load anything and yeah I got the API key and tried to add my characters, just doesn’t work.
