Do you move on to another alt? Do you take that character and do old content?
Level more alts. Mount farming. Random BGs.
Depends on the character… but mostly send them back to their garrison and do stuff there or in Legion. To be honest, I only have a couple alts to get to 120 then it may be time for a break until 8.2 (or later depending on how that turns out).
I might not be far behind. I’m starting to hit a ceiling with multiple characters and it’s getting a bit repetitive.
I could completely ignore BFA and all current progression but there’s a part of me that says “well if it’s an upgrade you really should go get it”.
Depends on my whims.
Sometimes I start farming, mounts and xmog and what not.
Sometimes I go play old content (I wanna go and do WoD again).
Sometimes I start a new alt.
Depends on my mood.
Transmog + mounts. I didnt really play legion so ive been going back and doing the balance of power questline on my alts. That takes up a lot of time.
Maybe try a new server with a new alt.
I think you answered your own questions by specifically targeting it at “Altaholics”.
start the next one…
Well what would be the point asking anyone who only plays one character?
I keep playing. ilvl isn’t my endgame, it’s just something that happens along the way.
I don’t worry about ilvl.
I work on leveling more alts. Currently I’m trying to obtain every hidden Artifact appearance.
Transmog to me is waaaaaay more important than a higher ilvl.
I get my alts to an ilvl they aren’t getting torn to shreds doing world content, then start on the next. There’s no rep or AP farming. No mythic+. Just gear to not worthless.
Once I get my characters to about 380+ (currently 3) I focus on old content. Or right now I am working up my first alt from lvl 20 in I dont know how many years.
Old content, battle pets, transmog runs. Similar to everyone else.
my alts are like my alter egos - i play the one i’m feeling that day, hah. =]
Both. So far the main characters I play are in the 360 il range with the main one I play is maybe 372, or something like that. So ya level alts, and go back, and do old content( not into trying to get the top item level gear grind). Never feel like im getting stronger in this game doing current content anyways since they added scaling, item level scaling rubbish. At least going back, and doing old content you feel like your character has progressed. Its funny though how even at 350, or 360 item level how some mobs you encounter in legion still take almost a full rotation of spells to kill something lol. In some old instanced content can understand that, but every once in awhile it happens in some non instanced stuff haha. Just proves item level scaling is not adjusting right in some older stuff. I mean some elites in BFA can just about one shot you. But being 10 levels higher than some random legion mob sometimes it takes just about a full rotation to kill something lol. That is why imo item level scaling is probably the worst thing they could of done to this game.
I have no ceiling. I just keep playing my top 7 characters. I work on them all every day. I do the WQs, followers table, assaults, the initial warfronts for the loot. I also work on my lvl 25 Ztroll occasionally. Looking to possibly take up a shaman, dk, or pally from 110 as they have been sitting in storage since Legion.
Depending on how much I like the character, I’ll consider getting into some mythic dungeons or even mythic+. Then I’ll get a quick reminder at how uninteresting BfA mythic dungeons are and how overloaded with trash.
Then Ill just find another alt and start to play that one or go to an old raid and farm transmog.
My ceiling is 410 so takes a minute
