What are the best WoW competitors / alternatives? If the game goes into another 10 year drought, where will we go?
Not sure what you mean by 10 year drought, but I’m thinking about checking out Diablo Immortal until 10.0 is released. It’s supposed to be free to play, so not much risk in trying it out.

I’m not sure what you mean by another 10 year drought but I can think of a few alternatives for wow such as old school runescape, or if you like the pvp i think dota 2 might work for you, if you like the farminating gear bit i think either d2 or d3 would be good for ya. If you want to avoid blizzard games for a bit i’ve heard path of exiles greato.

I keep my stash of handy games pretty diverse to help avoid burnout. I just ordered a Quest 2 headset for my family to try out, and I’m pretty stoked on trying out some of the same games I’ve loved, but in VR
I’ve had fun in lots of different games. I’m sure you will find something that will make you happy. Try a buy to play game. You’ll have that to fall back on forever.
Idk with DI on pc yet but on phone it’s a huge space taker on storage

just depends on your preference for me the only alternatives i found for myself that i would really invest time into would be FF i’ve tried a lot of mmorpg’s but most just have something i don’t like about them to make me not want to play them for a lengthy time. i would play FF otherwise because of the feel in terms of my time as it feels more casual in the sense that i can do content at my own pace where as with WoW i feel too pressured to keep up with end game content or im pretty much fallen behind drastically.
i’ve been trying to move onto consoles but with them being out of stock for so long and hard to get without paying scalpers it’s just not worth it atm. i just simply don’t play enough to really make paying subs worth the while.

Almost did the preload but Blizz isn’t even trying to market it in Belgium and a few other countries, so that tells me it’s got a terrible monetization scheme.
