What are alternative, active games for people who enjoy arena’s competitive aspect? Been spending 1h+ in LFG to find 3s partners and getting tired of it.
I don’t like dota/league because they have an insanely high learning curve considering the hundreds of heroes/items I need to be aware of before I can have a chance. Which I don’t have the time/patience for.
However, I liked Heroes of the Storm when I played it in the past, but it’s pretty much a dead game.
Any suggestions?

I liked HoTS too, I’m sad it didn’t succeed like I hoped it would

I host irl 3v3s. I give one guy a flame thrower though to keep some semblance of Blizzard’s balancing.
Joking aside, I play a lot of Rocket League. Pretty sure the skill ceiling doesn’t exist in that game. Takes a lot of time to get comfortable, but lots of fun. Matches only last 5 mins so they’re quick if you end up in a bad game.
I like LoL too, but like you said there’s a learning curve. Also the long games can be painful if you’re getting stomped.
Maybe try a fps? Pretty basic learning curve with room to grow.
Im also interested in trying something else. I only sub to wow for pvp and Blizzard’s abysmal attempts, or even lack thereof at balancing for arena has finally gotten me to a point of, I’m just over it. Holy paladins being as out of control as they are for this long is unacceptable. Other healers are far inferior. Look at mistweaver. I wont even bother dredging up the other numerous, obviously egregious imbalances. You’re all aware. Additionally, the game is littered with bugs and no new or interesting developments to arena or pvp quality of life have been implemented, or as far as I can tell, even considered. Rated soloqueue anyone? How about at the very least improve the lfg tool to show current ratings of applicants, list achievements, show additional spec specific records. Anything really. Make it more interesting. Blizzard literally invests more time in torghast, pet battles, world quests and their cash shop than they do in pvp.
End rant.

honestly I was just getting good at LoL when I decided to resub and play shadowlands. Now im thinking of going back because lfg is not fun. Problem is, click to move feels so clunky when you are used to wow pvp. I really like wow arena just wish I didnt have to deal with gear/pve/lvling/finding partners.
If you’re interested in DoTA2 and want a good learning mode, I’d suggest playing custom lobby 12v12 mode. It’s all I play now other than WoW and it’s tons of fun, no endless farm meta, constant action, and no one really gets called out for being bad. Players get gold/XP easier so a lot of games everyone ends up being Level 30 with 6 items so you can learn items/builds better. But like most games these days it’s ruined quite often by pay2win mechanics by patreon subscribers.
Most fun game outside of WoW though for me.
