Because there is no real argument against the boost so they have to tie it to bots.
I never was talking about how I want people to play the game. If you have done the journey 6 times, then the level boost to 58 would better serve a veteran who doesnât want to do it again, but not necessarily be so good for a new player. Or Maybe itâs a returning player who would enjoy doing the old journey again after a long break and then want to go to Outland, then ya they can go ahead and do it on âregular modeâ. But if everyone is boosting past most of the game to lvl 58 the overall experience from 1-58 will be different.
One time Experience boosting just seems like a good balance. Blizzard still makes money for their business, people save time and it wonât necessary create a polarity in the game.
RAF/boosted XP is NOT an alternative to boosting. RAF was heavily abused by bots during WoD, which is probably why we arenât getting it now. Bots are highly unlikely to buy the boost, but would 100% use RAF to keep the bot flow going.
Iâve already pointed this out multiple times but they still consistently insist RAF is better.
Not everyone is going to boost. Leveling guilds still exist. Some folks like to stop after UBRS and call it a good day. I feel like a new player boosting to TBC will still end up fading out. There is no attunement boost, which is probably longer than leveling 1-60 in /played time.
The reason this version of the game is popular is because of the time investment. However, people will use this for various reasons, professions, botting, reroll server, RP, or just generally to save themselves 4-5 days of leveling. Time is money friend. Personally, I would never level a priest to 60 because of how long it takes to get shadowform. Now I get one for two hours of real life work. That option actually exists right now, but I like sticking to my terms of use in games.
So whatâs your opinion on GDKP runs?
How much damage do you think a BRD rogue pick pocket bot can do in the time it takes to ban them? Do you think itâs more or less than $60?
Letâs not forget, the RaF system was also effectively FREE. Yes, such a far better alternativeâŚ
Once TBC launches? Zero. BRD farming is pocket change compared to the money you can make just from vendoring grays from level 60 mobs in hellfire. Love how people keep bringing up BRD farming when its not going to be a thing in TBC.
How about in Prepatch when the boost is planned to go live?
Sounds great tbh. I donât care about botters because the classic community have already enabled them to thrive via GDKP and dungeon boosting, so give me whatever will help quicken the boring slog that people call a âjourneyâ and into content that actually matters and is fun.
That is basically exactly how they handled it in TBC with the introduction of RAF where recruit-a-friend became a thing.
In addition from patch 2.3, if I recall correctly, the XP needed per level was reduced and quests gave more XP.
This is how they provided a catch up mechanic in TBC original. It should have been the solution they provided in TBC classic as well.
Some of us are being sarcastic. RaF is not a better option. If you think the bots will like Boosting, they will absolutely LOVE RaF.
How does that change anything now? Bots may or may not be doing it already, so nothing changes. I /who Blackrock every few days and see zero rogues farming it. Just the occasional level 50 something trying to get HoJ or getting attuned. There are already better things to farm in classic.
Iâve also not read or seen a video anywhere with evidence of the boost going live during prepatch, either.
At least RAF existed in TBC unlike a level boost which showed up in WoD. You still have to level.
Regardless, I would be fine with no level boost and no RAF but at least RAF was a thing.
I get it. It is true to form for TBC. Sure, I have no issues at all with that, I will take RaF as it was in TBC, over the boost.
Maybe your server is just dead lol. Personally I see a lot of unguilded rogues doing impossible hours in BRD every day, not doing anything else, just brd.
Yeah, dire maul bots make more gold per hour, but requires gear and max level. You can do naked BRD farms at 50. Having a boost will eliminate the time a botter has to invest to get set up, could you not think of that?
The boost was said during Blizzcon to be released during prepatchâŚhowever if you need more ideas of stealth farms, Iâd hit up google. The information has been there for over a decade.
Why donât they just offer EXPERIENCE BOOSTING instead.
That would be the pre-patch.
The boost is there for dungeoneers and raiders who canât stand leveling. You may disagree with that reason, but thatâs their reason.
Not a bad idea honestly.
Should be titled " The Mage boosters have spoken - No to boost"
This is how they provided a catch up mechanic in TBC original. It should have been the solution they provided in TBC classic as well.
Ok, so, the only issue you have is that the boost is not how it was in tbc?
