Can we get a lighting based alternative for lava burst for storm bringer, even if its just a glyph. Really hate using fire on a pure lighting build. Shaman is the only class in the game to wield lighting and you clutter it up with all these fire and earth spells. Makes me so upset. Miss the BC days sometimes where the whole rotation was basically just CL and LB and that was mostly it.
They should have made Tempest replace Lava Burst for Stormbringer.
They promised ele a lightning build back in TWW beta and then just never actually delivered on that promise. Now ele is stuck with fire ele and flame ascendant no matter what they pick.
Its why I don’t play elemental anymore. I haven’t since wrath when they introduced lava burst
I played it in DF up until season 3 then dropped it immediately after getting that abomination of a tier set. Then complete lunatics voted for that to be the season 4 tier set as well. And then I just gave up on ele when Blizzard never delivered on the promised lightning build.
There is not a pure lightning build.
Blizz specifically stated their changes were to get rid of the concept of pure fire or pure lightning build
No they didn’t.
The blue post literally says:
That is not what I am referring to.
So, the most recent blue post regarding ele shamans is wrong?
Lavaburst is not a spender.
The post is referring to spenders.
I am referring to what they said previously. Where after the super lavaburst season 4, and they redid the trees. They said they specifically wanted to go away from the pure lightning/fire builds.
You mean last beta cycle where they specifically said they wanted fire, lightning, and mixed elemental builds?
Honestly, i never understood why they didn’t make it an option for elemental blast to replace lavaburst with a talent. The stat buffs aren’t that important and could be nerfed
I wish they gave us options to choose from as an elemental caster.
I’d love to have water based spells, and summoning water elementals. Not sure why blizz never expanded on the glyph system to provide these choices.
Offensive water(not ice/frost) magic is sorely missing from so many RPGs. Especially weird in Warcraft where offensive water magic goes all the way back to WC3.
Their justification for Kul’tiran shamans is those WC3 water casters too.
They had it pretty close for one season then they changed how pwave worked. It was a lot more realistic then to have a lightning/fire mixed build.
That all went out the window with the second round of Ele changes.
