Alternate to M+ Abandonment system?

And this new system doesn’t stop any of it lol.

Silly to advocate for it.

dbm and details, my rotation is pretty solid based on the how to guides (can be improved upon) but outside consumables i have no idea how thats causing me to miss out on a whole million dps.

Not using abilities is most likely the answer. Mechanics bring people’s dps down because they focus on them.

Looking at my spell bar the only spell i’m neglecting is Power Siphon. Surely that can’t be the cause of a whole million?

I agree, remove M+

I’m not really advocating, I’m just saying it’s an inevitability.

Key bailing was a real issue, and something was bound to happen.

I STRONGLY recommend weakauras/simulationcraft and a cast bar weakaura of some kind. It makes a big difference.

SO the sim I linked is a raid sim which means its factoring in raid consumes and lust.

I also suggest hekilli even if you just use it to help you when you lose place in your rotation…

A whole mil? probably not however not using power siphon is a MAJOR dps loss.

I would also check out the class discord for warlocks as well as checking out Kalamazi. Dude has a TON of good info for warlocks.

So looking at wowheads rotation guide, it says i need 15 wild imps before tyrant. BRUH i can’t even get more than 8-10 out before they expire, how does a lock keep 15 up normally? the 3.5mil dps is making sense with this kind of expectation.

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/xcAyP7mV2rjzgZ6N?fight=1&type=casts

Your plexus kill, 37.3 casts per minute

Someone else’s, near a top log that would load, sameish ilvl,

https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/4tC1bcAkBJwZTaHy?fight=75&type=casts

55.9 casts per minute.

They have 20k haste, you have 7k.

So like, there are gear differences, but the core issue is you not using abilities.

12k more haste rating should help with that.

i mean i’ll be honest i kept letting dots expire as affliction cause i wasnt paying the best attention. But because of the 3% nerf and being the worst dps spec for locks i am demonology now.

You can do this for every one of your logs, compare yourself vs the top.

Odds are, they have like 10+ cpm on you.

That’s not even factoring in if abilities are used remotely correctly.

i mean in terms of raiding i was learning mechanics and focused on mechanics over casting for those specific logs so i’m not to worried about that. But I am worried about the missing million dps on demo. Starting to see where its going wrong and how to fix though.

The issue with wowhead/icyveins is if the guidewriters update them as things change all the time

I suggest this over wowhead/icyveins

Power siphon is a great tool to help you deal with movement as well.

Nothing wrong with paying attention to mechanics. DPS alone doesn’t kill bosses.

Yeah I need more haste, but i also need to use power siphon a lot more. I say in terms of the length of the fight and how often i can use it, if i had to guess i’m using it like 5 out of the 30 times i can use it for example. Real bad stuff. I do want to thank you and Fauxstraza though for bringing the logs to my attention and how to guides. I knew i could be doing more dps cause i’ve seen other locks doing more dps. But i thought what i was doing was fine till i had to relook at guides in our arguements to see what i was doing was not fine at all.

You have people focusing on dps, slightly paying attention to mechanics, they prob die more.

You have people only focusing mechanics, barely doing dps, they prob live more.

They both probably contribute the same thing towards an eventual kill.

(Well, unless if a boss is trivially easy, then the person doing mechanics only is technically more valuable.)

For sure, haste is demos main stat while mastery/crit is what aff stacks. Its hard swapping specs like that.

Its why I recommend Hekilli especialy for people who are trying to improve. Its not perfect and it doesnt factor in raid fights like holding CDs for damage amp phases but its a good tool to use in those regards.

Anytime. I have no problem ever helping people who generally want to improve.

We all get hit in the face with that at one point or another.

I wish you luck and if you ever have any questions you can always ask me.

I have some great guildies doing very well but i’m always struggling to keep above the tank even though he has like 10 item levels on me. In AoE situations im usually top in huge pulls but thats only because warlocks dont have aoe cap limits like my guildies do so thats more of a handicap than a skill.

Maybe your tank is just good? Like tanks can get up there. Hypothetically, seems unfair to compare 99th parsing tank with maybe 60s dps?

Idk what the equivalent is at the point for it to be reasonable still.

But it’s the idea.

(Not your scenario specifically.)

The suggestion to which I was responding was that if a player who doesn’t contribute to a key leaves, the key holder would be refunded their original key. Seeing as the OP already has a vast misunderstanding of how M+ works since they talk about vote kicks and this suggestion would be greatly hampered if kicking someone for non-participation didn’t refund that key, it’s reasonable to assume that kicking someone would invoke this piece.

If that is the case, then yes, there would be groups that kick a player below whatever the threshold is for participation just to get their key back and be able to replace that player with someone they perceive will be better.

Nothing, it allows the system to have different rules for leaving because everyone signed up under the same expectation. The players most affected by leavers are the ones who want to still complete the dungeon even if they don’t make the timer. Harsher penalties can be applied to those leaving keys without a successful abandon vote to completion runs since everyone will have the ability to know that’s the environment they signed up for. Then those who join a beat timer key have more flexibility to leave once timing the key appears cooked.
