I hate PvP with a passion, but I might poke my nose into it as a healer, just to check it out if it is different.

Healing in vanilla felt great in PvP. Just make sure somebody's helping you deal with rogues, otherwise you're gonna get ganked a lot.
If they still have original AV quest data in BfA, they probably also still have the old NPCs and possibly its items and spells. With all that, youâve got over 90% of original AV⌠the rest could probably be reconstructed from videos and screenshots and such.
EDIT: Something else worth noting is that non-NPC data for the original pre-1.8 AV map without pieces cut off can be found on any one of the numerous vanilla WoW discs floating around on ebay and on the internet in ISO form. Itâs not everything Blizzard would need to bring old AV back to life in Classic, but it would give them a starting point â most of the missing pieces can probably be generated/extracted from the map data on disc.
It only popped once in a while, but it was an epic battle. Tactical decisions mattered. Inching your way across the bridge in front of the Ally base (I was horde) was a battle fought inch by inch. Summoning bats and wolf riders at the right time to punch defenses was awesome.
Ivus turning the tide in the field of Strife, escorting NPCs out of trouble, it had great depth.
I still have a steamsaw blade on my mage, which if you weren't lucky enough to play then, was a quest item that was used to get a ridable shredder.
When AV was turned into just another zerg BG, it lost its sparkle, and WOW has been less for it for all these years. Returning AV to its epic glory would be a cornerstone for making Classic a vibrant game that will last for years.

Absolutely. If nothing else, Classic has the opportunity to be a stable PvP environment that keeps people coming back for years.
When I started doing AV, we had to collect mats like, blood, armor scraps and 1 or 2 more that I can't remember and then turn in to certain npc's at our fort and once we had turned in enough, we could summon a massize boss that would simply destroy the enemy players and whoever summon their boss first always seem to win.
God I can't wait lol.
Hey Blizzard. Give us Classic on Thanksgiving weekend so we can play through winter while it's cold out(well, at least where I live it'll be cold lol). I got a lot of Motovlog trips planned for next summer :(
Let's see, in one hand....Motovlog trips. In other hand....WoW Classic. ***Starts pulling hair out*** I'M NOT GOOD WITH THESE TYPES OF DECISIONS!!!
Sorry, I'll sit back down lol. Carry on.
11/08/2018 02:38 PMPosted by PhrontAlterac Valley MUST take one of its earlier forms. It's up for debate which version was "the best," but it cannot be the version from the end of vanilla with lower health and fewer NPCs. A restored AV is my #1 desire from Classic, so I'll be extremely disappointed if we get a nerfed version.
It won't be as they clearly said 1.12 was the earliest complete data set they had.
True AV must never die.
My experience of AV:
Part 1: alliance (on eu servers): Original AV. Absolute chaos. Bugs galore (yes giant tree guy who not only bugs out, but is super easy to kite into the horde pack for a swift kill). Lag through the whazoo. Never once did we win. Every AV was horde at stormpike and alliance dug in across the bridge. I loved every minute of it. Did i mention we never once won? We ONCE made it all the way to just outside the horde base. Once. There i finally discovered that land mines also existed in the game. Absolutely mind blowing stuff.
Part 2: Switched to US servers around 2006. Leveled up my horde rogue. Was so excited to finally win an AV! After reaching level 52 (no small feat), entered my first AV, charged to bal, watched the horde and alliance wave happily to one another across the field of strife. Killed bal, capped the towers, reached stormpike pretty much unopposed. Alliance win.
What the hell?
Part 3: Spent the next year listening to people say âffs, just let them winâ any time someone tried to organise resistance. Was always one of the jerks volunteering for the defence and consigning everyone to a 30 minute grind. The horror! Won a few, lost most games. Over time the cave guardians multiplied and it was maybe 15 of us versus the 20 alliance who bothered to leave their cave and come out to play.
Part 4: TBC. Following keying misery dropped my rogue and leveled up this shammy on thaurissan (they wanted more alliance, i liked a target rich environment in world pvp), reached av again.
Only now horde were somehow winning again. The latest changes meant the horde cave was slightly closer. And with towers needing to fall (no more bugging out the warmasters), alliance were borked. Horde not only dropped those towers faster, but also recapped their towers. Alliance were constantly on the back foot and were lucky if the map wasnt entirely blue by the end of it.
Then they moved the cave back. I think this created a bit more balance. But by then its all a bit blurry. Anyways, point is, original av. Even later vanilla AV was a crap show. In fact it was miserable if you were horde.
Ikr, if I want to do the put the leash on the rams sidequest then Iâm going to do it while our summoned forest lord hopefully does not derp out and goes around murdering horde
