Why are you forcing this? I took a work order for a cauldron, need the altar of decay so I queue for heroic BHH. Complete it, carry the group through it and as they see me head for the altar, they kick me and go “LOL GET REKT LOSER.”
Stop giving power to trolls.

But I do agree that having the altar in the instance is annoying. Should’ve put it somewhere in the decaying gnoll camp in Azure Span.

Any GM can check it, I reported the whisper.

How would they know to kick you to deny the altar anyway? Something about this story seems less than real.

They opened their eyes and watched me running towards it. The rest of the group had left, there were only the two of us, so one vote was enough.

havent had that happen but i guess i can see how. I agree that it would be harrowing enough to stick one in that mob filled Azure span BHH area.
why do we have to gather mats / orders then clear an instance to the very end is beyond me.
It is a pretty silly mechanic, I understand why they thought it would be cool but it is just annoying.

To make matters worse they added recipes and are still requiring you to craft certain patterns at the altar, even though it’s clear people are fed up with it.

And a nice touch for alchemist who can’t get to it to use it either, great going blizzard.

BHH ain’t too bad to solo on normal; did it on my spriest before 10.1 for the tuskarr achievment. Could try doing that, though yeah having the altar inside the instance is still moronic.
Can’t you clear a m0 and extend the lockout every time you need to go there?
Meanwhile, in the old Alchemists home, we are giggling.

having to go to the altar for decay crafting is first-rate 500% stupid, and should never have gone live that way.
until you run a BH M+ and forget to extend your lockout, thus overwriting it the second you zone in.

It’s dumb, but you could use the portable one as an alternative.

People doubting but there are some weird, childish people in dungeon runs.
But I do agree, in a bid to try to inject some rpg elements, they just made it annoying for me. I would of liked it more if they just had some dark decay area in the open world that you venture to.
I guess this was an ez way to get some engagement out of that specific dungeon.

Run it on M0 and perma extend the lockout.
But blizzard dropped the ball here of course. Why not add a quest line to unlock an alter at valdrakken alchemy table? Get a sample from the alter of decay + whatever else standard quest stuff. This stuff makes the world engaging and fun. Such an easy opportunity.

I still say they should put an altar of decay out in the open world, similar to the tailoring tables and the blacksmithing forge. You’d still have to travel out to Azure Span, but it wouldn’t require you to run an instance every time.
If they’re really stuck on the whole “You must run Brackenhide!” put the open world table as an unlock from running the dungeon and clicking on the table inside.

Sounds like something I might do to a guildie, then invite them back.
It’s for the immersion people.
that doesn’t make it any less of a stupid mechanic. it’s inconvenient and annoying.
