Why does ALT TABBING create instability to world servers? Game runs fine, when i start Alt Tabbing to google, or change songs on YT i get major instability to the servers
This is not an Internet issue, every other process and service is running without any issue.
Are you running windowed full screen or full screen?
I only had problems before I swapped to windowed full.
Have not experienced this myself. Could be a RAM and System Paging issue though. If WOW gets paged out of RAM, it may become unstable. How much RAM does your machine have? I am running 48 GB.
Sounds very much like a hardware/software problem with your specific rig. When you change focus between active tasks that are heavy resource users (e.g., alt-tabbing in/out of WoW), you’re likely generating page faults that may be handled in RAM if you have enough, or they may hard-fault to the virtual memory file on disc (esp. if you’re low on RAM). SSDs are faster than spinning hard drives, but they’re still much slower than RAM.
Like Quivermethis, I run windowed full screen (not full screen like Diablo-4). If you’re running full screen (not windowed) then it could be a VRAM shortage on your VFX card rather than system RAM.
Check your graphics settings on your FPS cap when the game is running in the background, not that it has anything to do with server instability, but getting really choppy FPS when tabbed is working as intended if your settings are selected that way.
I have mine like that deliberately, no use making my PC push all of the frames when I’m tabbed looking up stuff on the net anyway.
Alt-tabbing real quick is great. It stops all the annoying RP that I don’t care about. clcking on that miniscule x for the talking heads gets aggravating afte a while.
Are you talking about framerate? Alt tabbing out of the game has no correlation with your world server ping.
There’s addons that will do that for you.

48 GB of RAM, or 48 while including a pagefile? Paging does not effectively increase your RAM, though it does help with RAM issues in some cases.
I have 48 GB of physical RAM installed.
