However, R works and alt as well, because I have some keybinds with alt. But somehow Alt + R keybind is not working.
Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

Usually this means that something else i s already bound to that key setup. Youll have to look through all the keybind settings.
But I checked and the only thing bind to that button is what normally is the 7/8 bind.
I am not very skilled in that part.
Are you using an addon or trying to go through the default UI?
If you’re using something like Bartender, aiming to use Alt+R should make it pop up with an error message if that doesn’t work, or a notification of the previous bind no longer being bound.
I deactivated all addons except for Emote Splinter, TRP3 and and WIM addon. I use Blizzard’s UI. And this stopped working suddenly, while both of my keys work on my pc and separately.
This also happens on every toon. The bind on Alt + R doesn’t work regardless.
just do /r it does the same thing
I did the alt + r and I got the whisper command
I usually have a spell there and have been forced to use that one clicking since then, hahaha.
Do you have a keyboard that lets you create custom bindings for windows functions? My Razer has a program that lets me put any key combo to various functions. Could be possible that such a function is over-riding WoW.
I checked now. In another character I have an Alt + Z in the action button 10 (The Alt + R is on action button 8). In that character, Alt + R works, but not Alt + Z.
I eliminted the bind then used another (Alt + X) and it works. But when I tried putting the Alt + Z again, nothing happened.
Not sure what’s really going on here.
It’s a windows command over riding the game. Need to remove the keybinding from your computer itself.
How can I do that? It happened out of nowhere.
Ok, here is what happened to me… when I updated Gforce experience, alt+r was assigned to the in-game overlay… so it overrides the short-cut I assigned in game. I turned that overlay off and it fixed the problem. Maybe in your case, some other softwares took over the alt+r shortcut from a system level that overrides the in-game short cut. Worth checking.
