I’d love it if Demon Hunters also gained the currently Dracthyr-only racial “Soar.”
Demon Hunters ALSO have wings and, in my opinion, should ALSO be able to dynamically fly by themselves, the same exact way that Dracthyr will be able to in this upcoming patch.
It would really add a TON of fun to the Demon Hunter class if they could use their wings for more than just gliding.
If the Dracthyr can Soar with their wings, so should Demon Hunters.
Yes, I understand that Demon Hunters use magic to hide their wings normally… it is a magical world; let them Soar!

No. Soar is an integral part of the Dracthyr Evoker’s fantasy, and giving it to Demon Hunters would dilute the Dracthyr.
Demon Hunters couldn’t fly on Warcraft 3, so soar doesn’t belong to them.
If you try to refute those points, you will be arguing for Warlock Metamorphosis.

I think upgraded gliding with a flap ability would make more sense, would look really goofy for them to have full on flight
Edit: it’s also already established that regular Demon Hunters can flap while in the air

It would be nice if we had a modified version based on gliding. So no take off but once we start the glide we can gather vigor as we go. But otherwise let the scalely people have their fun.

Do you also want the Worgen mount racial for Demon Hunters too? DHs are already one of the strongest classes in number and strength of Defensives/Offensives/Crowd Control/Mobility. Let us just make one class to rule them all, NO!
Maybe not, but They would look awesome as a DH. Maybe some can volunteer for some good reason but the science goes bad and blam. I get what I want like a brat.

I don’t feel they should have soar - it’s not part of their class fantasy and never has been.
However, I do think they should have an ability that performs the jump from Rain From Above, so that they can then glide. This is pretty much as far as things go in the lore, so would make sense. The problem is that in PvE it could actually be used to dodge mechanics, so people would probably be angry about it in that sense.
I could see them getting the current version, maybe, but not what is coming in a few hours, basically a Dracthyr mount form.
If you do that then Druids flight forms should get Soar too.

But in those videos from Legion where it does flashbacks about Demon Hunters fighting demons, they’re clearly seen flying around and fighting demons in the air…
The reason that Demon Hunters can’t fly is because it’s “too cool” as many of you stated.
I’m not even a Demon Hunter main (my main is a paladin, followed by a shaman alt and a monk alt); however, I believe in logic and fairness.
It’s a shame that that class cannot fly, given that it has wings.
And yes, I am fine with Warlocks flying, too, through their metamorphosis ability (which I think they lost a long time ago).
And I’m fine with priests and mages also being able to do so… because that enhances the game. It makes it more fun.
All mages should be able to fight while hovering over the air, like the sorceresses of WC3, for example.

My first main was a Demonology Warlock. I took a break for a few years (right before the release of Legion.) When I came back at the end of BFA I find those damn demon hunters STOLE Metamorphosis from me!
DH can go suck an egg and just glide!
