Blizzcon is in two weeks. I’m excited about the possible future but nervous at the same time.

well I thought I was, but I gradually started playing less and less, until I realized, I’m just bored
Devs said very specifically whatever they have in store is not SoM II.

I really don’t want Classic+, or even SoM 2(*) at this point.
I just want about 2 fresh progression pvp servers per continent (like how many HC servers we have), with Blizzard actually seriously enforcing botting/gold selling, to keep the economy more natural.
That’s it.
I miss PvPing with people who aren’t in full T2.5/T3 or R14 gear.

People think they want a new fresh server but it will die eventually and everyone will go back to classic.

Not if they do the last part I mentioned (enforcing botters/gold buying). Then people will consider these the new “era” servers and they will become the de facto.

Hardcore is not sustainable at the top end
The point of a fresh server is to not last forever on purpose.
Fresh lovers do not like to play the game that era presents to you now
Fresh gives us what era cannot.
Phase 1-4 pvp, actual fun BGs/wpvp (organically), world boss rush, bug wars and competitive speed runs
Fresh players do not care about a server spammed with naxx gear/r14
Era currently has rocket boots listed for 299g hordeside. 100g black mageweave boots.
It’s an absolute joke. The longer era goes on, the more hilarious it gets
Most era forever die hards do not understand why fresh is good and why the game was not meant to be static in a never ending phase 6. I attribute this to having no reps with “fresh”, or likely a lack of experiencing why fresh is actually good

Been playing since 05. Quit mostly after MoP, start of WoD.

I more so meant have you played more vanilla than just classic.
A pserver for example.
Nobody knew wtf was going on in 05 and didn’t grasp an understanding on why the game isn’t meant to last forever like we do now.
I played vanilla for years before classic even came out. I’m not saying it’s impossible to have fun on era. But it is just an unrealistic experience for specific types of players
I’ve played on two pservers. One was absolute garbage with mod abuse. The other I was banned for killing players leaving Shattrath (so not Vanilla but TBC). Not fond of pservers.
I’m all for a rotating fresh server cycle for those that want it, but I don’t want it to replace permanent servers.
