Noticed my server has been packed with a lot more people lately.
I think they got tired of the other MMO already.

I need data, not troll posts!
To be fair, I think the 9.1.5 announcement bringing back people, a few people I know said they’ll give WoW another try with the changes, which is good.
I’m hoping more and more great quality of life changes continue to happen and revitalise WoW.
Its not a troll post, I’ve noticed more people then usual are on during the times I play.
Take it for what it is.
Don’t buy it, New World is coming out in Sept and Endwalker right after, WoW is going to lose more people not gain more.
Obviously people will always come back. All the things that make people leave are fixable and new content is always exciting.
Then don’t, however like I said more people are playing on my server then usual.
I mean its not hard to notice more people are on. I see more people questing and playing in zones and sitting around in hub areas.
https://wowranks.io/stats
Well, the last scrape of this was about an hour ago. That’s how many unique characters have logged on in the last 28 days that are engaging with SL content (have a covenant). It’s 300k lower than what it was a week or so ago.
If more people were playing this number would be going up, not down. And this is a day after announcement and scraping every hour. It’s the most recent data. If people were returning this would reflect it immediately the second it was a new unique character.
Important: These stats are limited by how fast website can scan character data from the Blizzard API. It takes a week or two to refresh.
Covenant stats are also limited to characters that had been active in the last 28 days and logged in at least once after 2021-07-01 (around 9.1 launch). This is done to avoid abandoned alts and to keep data as recent as possible.

That’s specifically with regards to covenants, not unique characters. Your armory page updates instantly. That disclaimer is specifically related to the covenant numbers.

New World is DOA because it’s neglected the casual PvE crowd. They’re doing the exact same thing that FFXIV did when it launched, which was disastrous for Square, and Amazon won’t fare any better. Endwalker may impact WoW. But then again it may not.
A shame, I had hoped people would be more inclined to hold blizzard accountable for this continued transgression, but this only endorses what have been repeated behaviour on blizzard’s end.
Release an absolutely broken product by ignoring all feedback, complaints, etc, and then only fix it half a year after.

That was not at all why FFXIV 1.0 was dead on arrival. Nobody could be bothered to play the game long enough to see that point. I’m pretty sure the clunky UI, barely functional servers, lack of a minimap in an MMO in addition to a lot of cut and paste to make zones look bigger, the fact auto attack wasn’t in the game, or rideable chocobos IN A FINAL FANTASY GAME, the laggy server because the polygon count of random pots was ridiculous and more polygons than player models. Among a plethora of other problems like the fatigue system for leveling that WoW initially was going to have in its original beta that got scrapped.
Yeah those probably did more for FFXIV 1.0’s fate than “lack of casual pve content” because that sure isn’t the case now. In fact it was one of the first things they actually fixed in A Realm Reborn once they figured out their plan.
The only way people will come back is if it’s some massive game changing revolution. Just some Blizz dev saying what people want to hear wont werk.
Then why are you all still here then?

Yeah, active within the last 28 days. As in PLAYED THE GAME RECENTLY. If they didn’t do this that number would still be 6 million like it was a month after Shadowlands despite very obviously not that many people playing the game.
Like I don’t know what to tell you, the game has 2.8 million unique characters in the last 28 days. A week ago it was 3.1 million. A few days ago it was 3 million. Guess we’re seeing how many people actually did quit over the lawsuit coming into play now.
Not as many people are logging onto the game as a whole like you’re experiencing.
Those pesky disclaimers
Testing…10 char
No its not cool, if you don’t like a game why play it and don’t give me none of that but “I care for WOW crap”.
Its either you disagree with their direction of the game or your just making noise for the sake of making noise and being a follower.
Just because you can’t read a disclaimer correctly doesn’t mean what you think it means. I’ve explained them each for you now and you have no response. You’re desperately trying to hug onto thinking it’s taking 2 weeks to update all the new characters when it’s them tallying all the covenant numbers. This has no effect on characters who already have covenants that are actually killing things in the game presently.
Really do not know what to tell you aside from this expansion is not going well and probably isn’t getting better by player count.
End of the day the game is not going to see 4-5 million active characters anytime soon except next expansion. They started at 6 million characters. Losing half your players is unacceptable in just 7 months. People cope with this by saying it’s “normal” for this to happen, only with regards to Blizzard. If this happened to any other game you’d say the game is screwed. Why do you accept this failure from Blizzard?
