with the War Within alpha right around the corner, is there a sign up i’m not seeing? Just want to get into testing if possible.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there was no official sign up this time. Pre-ordering a certain edition of TWW guarantees beta access, so many are already “signed up”, so to speak.

Alpha invites that aren’t already F&F or promotional are still pulled from the beta opt-in information in your Battle.net account under Privacy & Communication > Communication Preferences.

Well sure, but alpha’s generally have less people that are players, so I figure they’d just pull from the pool of people who are already guaranteed beta 
Yeah, just opt-in for the games you like here and you’ll be “signed up” for every alpha and beta moving forward.
Alpha usually goes to the streamers first. In 15 years I’ve only gotten access to one alpha and that was for Shadowlands. I’ve never seen a sign up for it.

Same. Not WoW, but I’ve only ever done one Blizz alpha and the invite was completely unsolicited on my end. I just got a random email one day.
That’s how it was for me too.
I thought if you pre-ordered you were automatically given an Alpha sign-in/preview

Or lack there of lol. I don’t like to quest and level in the alpha/beta. I don’t wanna ruin the story. I usually wait till the max level server is released and then go right into testing talents and what not.

to the best of my knowledge there has never been an open alpha. they have very rarely pulled from beta sign ups… but most of the time it is employees, friends and family only.
Generally, if you have never been invited to an Alpha in the past, you won’t get invited. It’s possible, but very unlikly. You’re not missing much either as Alpha is very broken and very WIP.
Beta invites are a much better way to play the new content and get a better feel for what they (the devs) are going for.

There’s been a few Alpha’s where regular Joe players have been invited, just not on the same scale as a Beta. I got an Alpha invite back for BFA for no reason I’m aware of.

This time they didn’t do sign ups for the beta, think the last time they did this was for MoP testing and players got access was through something else.
Alpha is almost a unfinished sneak peak of things before it enters a Beta phase of testing. It is where what we see and most of everything is either cut or changed before it leaves the Alpha phase. The best time really to test things is the Beta phase since that is where most issues arise over that phase and not just class bugs but quest bugs, too bugs where you will see floating herbs or mineral nodes down all the way to graphical glitches (I listed everything a player should be aware of when they want to be on a Beta or Alpha).
