Alpha Class Testing Feedback

The only classes currently receiving much feedback from testing are Hunter and Evoker on the Alpha forum. I know it’s only been two days, but given the amount of feedback there vs. others is a red flag.

So either our WoW team absolutely nailed the other classes, or the people currently doing Alpha testing are failing the entire player base at the moment. I’d suggest it’s probably the latter.

I can’t begin to explain how important it is to get this right, and this game means something to most of us here. There are specific class writers on Wowhead they could be leveraging for this, and even then players they could find through Warcraft logs, RaiderIO, etc that could make a real difference for their game.

If I had to ask for anything, it’s to have those players brought into Alpha immediately to ensure the best groundwork is laid out for the foreseeable future.

I’ve never known the WoW community to hold their tongues when something is wrong, so I’d put my money on the former. They probably just feel mostly the same. But I’m sure more issues and annoyance will come to light in time.

Evokers are brand new, and the hunter talents had a lot of obvious problems just from looking at the previews. I think it’s understandable that there’d be stronger immediate reactions to them.

Plus not everyone reports issues on the forums. You can do it in game.

Oh man. You mean in the first 24 hours of alpha, everyone wanted to try the completely new Draco-Class instead of issue hunting in 18 year old classes?

Color me shocked.

Clearly they’re playing hunter too.

Thanks for the sarcasm though, it’ll really help improve the game.

It’s not our job to improve the game.

the funny part is OP is under some impression that the devs pay attention to the feedback.

never forget the very, very many posts about guardian on the druid feedback topic for SL (or was it BfA, I ironically forgot. whichever alpha I was involved in) alpha that went 100% ignored.

it was funny. post after post about guardian issue, and when the druid thread finally gets dev attention, they’re talking about balance issues. funny and sad.

No offense but this is the worst take of all time lol. So what, you’d rather let talent trees be a chaotic mess and then join the hivewhine until 10.0.5 when we could have said something now?

I’d concede that they seem to genuinely intend to foster a good conversation, but it’s still not our job to fix the game. If 99% of players are playing evoker, then put the resources there. (Hyperbole, for sure). That doesn’t stop internal testing.

Use it as an opportunity to make the other classes as exciting as evoker.

This is literally Alpha. There are still thousands of people that have yet to gain access because it’s Alpha. If this were Beta and it had been a week already, then I might agree.

They’re responding to the hunters feedback and making changes. I’m not delusional, they likely won’t see my post, but I’d rather try than do nothing.

->>It’ll be fixed by beta<< YOU ARE HERE

-It’ll get fixed in 10.1

-The dragonriding system has its bugs acknowledged now, 10.2 is when this thing will be great!

-10.3 will clean up the loose ends the devs couldn’t get to, don’t worry!

-Maybe next expansion will be better

Never too early. People with Alpha/Beta access have a responsibility, and if they don’t feel that, then they shouldn’t be selected for future testing.

No, they don’t. That’s not how this works. The internal testers have a responsibility.

Alpha/Beta/Any Other External tests are supposed to be letting the software get into the wild, into the end users hands. You want them to use the software the way would normally.

Agree to disagree. You get special access, there comes responsibility with it. This isn’t a ticket to Disney.

Tell me about it. I’ve been trying to find videos about the currently available classes in Alpha, and I haven’t been able to find anything interesting on any class other than Evoker, and Rogue.

I’m currently in the Alpha and it’s extremely limited in the amount of people that have access to test it right now. I’ve been in the last five expansion Betas and the amount of activity is astoundingly different. Not because of the popularity of the game as a whole, but because of the limited access that is available right now.

Even though I have a lot of disposable free time on my hands, I’ve still found little time to check anything out beyond the new Evoker class. I did create a new Hunter because that’s one of my favorite classes, but I didn’t get around to setting the talents yet. I’ll check the remaining available classes that do have the new talent system in the upcoming days.

There will be much more feedback in the upcoming days as more people have access to Alpha and then eventually Beta. It’s a much more focus driven Alpha than Blizzard has ever had. It’s not going to be an Alpha like it has been in the past where months go by without anything new being added. To me, it feels more like a Beta cycle than it does Alpha. It’s because of how far long in the developmental cycle they truly are compared to previous expansions.

It’s extremely frustrating to click on the Rogue thread to see people who don’t do end game content already trying to destroy the class because they don’t like that they have to have an extra button to press…

Being week one and not many people in the alpha itself id say most people are currently testing evokers with a few testing other available classes. All streams or vods i have seen is 90%+ evoker players

Lol. You’re silly. There is no obligation for unpaid testers to provide feedback.

The streamers are doing their job by building hype. Thats why they were choosen. Past that it doesnt matter what the testers do
