just got the mount today, quest bug has been fixed

I couldn’t find the alpaca today I flew around for 30mins

It could be a sharding issue that is making it so that you cannot find the alpaca. It does have a lot of respawn points and takes between 17 min to 90 min for him to respawn after he despawns either by being fed and it will despawn on its own if no one feeds it within 10 min. I tried to make groups with other people looking for it and took turns search opposite points in Uldum. I get people don’t like making groups with random people but it can literally spawn right after someone passes that spawn point. Happened to at least 3 people I know of when I was looking for it on my hunter Phantazya-Whisperwind and always posted in general if I saw it and would wait til others got it sometimes it did despawn before the 10 min mark.
does anyone know if the alpaca is counting pre-bug fix feeding attempts? or now that is has been fixed does all progress restart?
I would like to know this also.
Guess I’ll log in and go hunt the little bugger down and see what happens.
Ok. Went and fed the alpaca and used the script. The script does now work perfectly to track feedings. Unfortunately all of us that fed the alpaca while he was broken have to do it all again. The times we fed him before do not count.

Alpaca is actually working. Yes I found him and fed him and the script was working to track feedings. But I have completed the 7 feedings and was immediately given the next quest to get the mount. That was my last concern. We have now received the mount on all 4 accounts.
I flew around for 3 hours on 2 separate days. No alpaca.
BROKEN AGAIN. I had successfully fed the alpaca for 5 days. And on what should be day 6 of 7 today (tomorrow being day 7), I found the alpaca and it will NOT interact with me! No quest yellow exclamation mark, no taking the gersahl leaf, NOTHING. WTHeck? It stayed up for between 5-10 minutes THAT I WAS HERE, and despawned. I did not see it again, despite going around the route twice between waypoints posted here and those from the Alpaca addon. I used this script to find that I’m still at 5 of 7 feedings.

I just made another 4-5 rounds, stopping at each spawn place and no alpaca. This is what I was experiencing when the quest was broken.
