Almost every complaint here is solved by joining a guild

I played before then. And I had to many RL responsibilities to even consider getting that involved in a game

I’d share the same opinion.

It’s cringe. If you hate leveling so much, buy a boost.

If you don’t want to buy a boost or can’t afford it, have fun in Desolace and grind it out like we all did in classic.

isn’t questing still faster than rdf anyway for classic leveling. all rdf really does is just break up questing at least for me.

It’s massively faster.

Well, casual is a moving goalpost I’ll admit. That said, WoW absolutely was the most casual MMO of it’s time. Possible exceptions being games designed for literally children like Hello Kitty and ToonTown. The developers intentionally made it that way.

Put it like this. If you wanted to be at the top in EverQuest you had to play it like a full time job. In WoW, you could get to the top playing it like a part time job. One is definitely more casual than the other.

Well and since it gives better gear, it makes questing easier for at least a bit.

In wrath, I used to boost my kids characters through things like SM, WC or DM to get them low level sets. When I was geared enough, they all got D1 and D2…

Yeah I dunno, leveling is pretty easy right now with heirlooms, so i’m not really worried about the gear part. You’re not really ever “struggling” with heirlooms.

But honestly I can see people just sitting in SW queueing for RDF to level. And not being out in the world

You did not raid Naxx 40 without it being a full time job for at least a huge portion of your guild.

If you want to see it, go bnack with a new TLP server launch. I went back for one after getting in late on another. I joined a guild. Set up a static leveling group. got to max level extremely fast. Got kicked form my group at max level because I was the only one with a job and everyone else couldnt wait till noon their time for me to get home form work…

The entire guild was disabled, retired or living with a spouse who paid the bills

I dont mind that because I dont PvP. I’d rather not have to compete for spawns as I level

I dunno what version of wotlk you’re playing but there’s like no real competition over mobs anymore. The rush is gone, the leveling world feels empty even without rdf

Questing from 70-80 for sure is faster. But mix in some huge XP dungeon quests, and the gears given from those quests, make the dungeons worthwhile.

1-70 without dungeons, pure questing. Perhaps. But the most boring thing ever, considering most of us did this multiple times. RDF pleeeeease.

To be fair, I stepped out of Classic rn because of no RDF. I am playing a bunch of older games (still have a few months left on my sub because I build up a few months of tokens in Retail) that are free or f2p. If my son plays P99 is a blast. The City of Heroes emulated server is cool too. Some day I am going to set up my own Pre-NGE SWG server like I did the EQ server

Didn’t you just post that there is basically no shot it gets put in?

Yeah I don’t blame you. Honestly if RDF is the deciding point for you playing wrath or not it’s pretty safe to say there wasn’t much interest there to begin with.

Absolutely. Unless they do a 180 come ICC. But in general, I was saying gimme that RDF for 1-70.

It wasnt the deciding factor, but it does stop me from doing half of what I did the first time through.

Once it was added, my alt armies would just spam dungeons as tanks or healers (I prefer healers)

The leveling stories I have done in Wrath and over and over since then. Its not like Vanilla where you go back to quests you havent been able to play in years.

Edit - I think when the Tournament dailies come back I will find more interest.

It depends. If I’m able to queue in RDF, and it says 20 minutes until the queue pops, I at least have some frame of reference for how long I have to wait. So I’d stay on because I know the queue will pop eventually.

Most of the people raiding Naxx 40 HAD full time jobs. They weren’t a bunch of high school kids. Ion himself being an example. Now, from what I’ve heard, gold buying may have made this way easier, but who knows.

JFC. That’s insane.
