The guy flat said he didn’t have all the essences available to buy yet, that he was still earning them and was saving to buy when he could. Did you even read his post?
Less than 1 day notice (it was ~17ish hours, half of which was sleeping time). That is not notice. That’s walking by and saying “oh, btw, this is happening” in passing. Blizz’s norm is to give a weeks notice for major changes like this…at the very least…they often give a week and a half to two weeks for things like this.
I do 14 ems and all 3 assaults every week. I was doing island weekly as well but work picking back up. Maybe you are inefficient? BTW 1000 on 24 is nothing. I earned 2500+ on 14. Good thing I spent most of them a week ago.
People complain they didn’t give enough notice. People complain that it took this long to get the vendor.
People complain that they didn’t reset the echos. People complained about the possibility that they would reset. People complain that they devalued stock piles instead of reseting.
maybe you shouldve bought your essences, i mean waiting around to buy them is pretty dumb and makes your characters weaker. unless youre talking about buying essences noone gives a crap about
Yeah man, this is BS. And screw these idiots commenting on your post. F off with your negative feedback. How would you feel if the value of the dollar plummeted to 1 cent and you cant buy food. Real world vs a dumb game but you get the point. Piss off with these crap comments. I’d quit playing OP. I have lol. Raid logging is all I do. Too much crap in this game is aggregating.
They mentioned in the announcement that people should buy any Essences they need beforehand, but I imagine many people missed it because it was so sudden. Very bad patch, there was no need to increase the cost.
I can’t speak for OP, but I’ve mostly been playing my nubs, I have ten character slots to fill for my guild to get Classy and will likely have to pick up the slack for others as I’ve got the most characters already to 120. Two of my characters (this and another) had 600 echoes, so when I saw the notice I warned everyone I could and bought one essence for the two characters. The other 120s had around a hundred each, and only my ‘main’ has a cloak so none will be getting more echoes.
Sounds pretty crappy. But I will suggest you never stockpile, spend them as you get them so that your risk per character was always less then 500.
We play differently, I get it, but I got my new alts all rank 3s in about 2 weeks each - but I do play “1 toon at a time”. Still, it’s less risk on the board.
Still, I did stop playing completely after burning out on vessel grinding and I don’t expect to come back anytime soon.
I feel you brobro. I am in a similar situation where somewhere along the line, I did not realize I was not earning echoes because I must’ve had all my essences maxed. However, later on I acquired a rank 1 most likely in the final weeks lead-up so consequently only have 2.5k echoes whilst my guildmates whom I run with daily have 13-16k each. This is disappointing not to mention grossly unfair. Corruption affects should not be considered a “catch-up” mechanic and therefore should not have been implemented with the same currency designed for such a use. This is an extremely poor oversight imo.
PS “Blizz, you’ve stolen my childhood… You’ve stolen my dreams!”
