Allow violence and torture but not "the b word"

Blizzard has used the words dozens of times in the past, addressing it against several characters and it was never an issue.

Steve for some reason thought it was “too offensive” or some other silly reason he won’t bother to give to make Garrosh (a general a-hole) not call Sylvanas (another general a-hole) a DIRTY WORD, and god forbid Godfrey, another ahole call her it too! Meanwhile, sylvanas can say it with impunity in old games.

I am a big sylvanas fan, I don’t care that she’s a woman, I don’t care that she’s dead, none of that matters, she made a nice strong horde and was a overall compelling character, but Steve here has a weird attraction to her to the point where he can’t have anyone else call her a dirty word. It was in the game for almost twelve years and all of a sudden it was too much. It must’ve kept him up at night or something silly.

Restore the phrase, no one complained before. You’re watering down characters left and right. Someones gotta be a bad guy sometime, and its not that big of a deal to call that out.

They aren’t going to restore it. We are in a strange almost Puritan phase of our civilizations decline.

Do we know for sure that’s why they did it? I mean yeah it’s the obvious assumption to make but did they release an official statement on why they removed it? It just feels weird that he’d want it gone after dealing with it for so many years and secondly that they’d allow it to be removed on the whims of one man, so idk.

That word is really offensive to our female players so it’s understandable that they want to remove it.

I understand why they did it… Blizzard sensed a disturbance in the force when 1 million “Karens” cry out

All this ruckus over a swear word being removed.

Karens again…

Why everyone using that name?

Karen ” is even defined in dictionary.com as “a pejorative slang term for an obnoxious, angry, entitled, and often racist middle-aged white woman who uses her privilege to get her way or police other people’s behaviors."

Jenkins, do bring me my stick, I have need to strike the expired equidae repeatedly.

Does it really matter, though? I mean, just because the give a reason, it doesn’t mean they are telling the truth.

World of Warcraft: Where you can commit genocide daily, but where the B-word isn’t allowed.

I’d call her the B-word too. And smack her. Equal rights, equal fights.

I would, regardless, like to see them work together to issue a statement that is a lie that is also convincing enough to fool the playerbase into not ripping them apart over it.

The b-word isn’t even offensive. But if they feel they have to shield players like me, whatever. It’s their decision…but yeah I agree its dumb as hell. If they really wanted to go full PC they’d have to throw the whole Garrosh out.

The B word is fine. Its the fact that he said it to a woman that is… problematic. Garrosh is textbook toxic male and male privilege, for him to say that to a woman, pretty much man splaing to her… i can see why they had to-no, NEEDED to change it.

Fair enough. I wouldn’t hold high hopes, though. They are not quite good at that, everything they say usually sound insincere and condescending even xD

Just the start man. Better to let go.

It wasn’t just him - it was a ‘we’ issue. We as in blizzard thought it was time it should be removed and they stated they aren’t going to put it back so keeping on making these threads is rather pointless.

I have no idea why that word is so important for you to keep in the game.

Yeah. That is what makes it so bizarre. Almost like a David Lynch version of the Twilight Zone.
